Hello,
really great idea! I’d like to avoid rebasing my miniatures if possible. Could I use the lower part of your base with the original base of the Flashpoint miniatures? I would simply drill holes into the bases of the miniatures and glue the magnets in place.
Best regards
Daniel
Hi, good question, I designed the outer ring to be 1mm bigger than the 32mm bases the official Mantic Spartans are on, so if the magnet is perfectly centred there should be a 0.5mm clearance all around.
If you drill and place the magnet into the base with the Spartan attached it should work fine. I do suggest before doing so that you submerge the base in hot water and flatten, in reviews I’ve seen some wobbly bases that must have been warped in packaging etc.
If there is anything you need editing in the files let me know as I can always modify the files to meet any needs. Thanks you for the interest.
Stuart
Thank you for your quick response.
Deadzone and Flashpoint are new to me, and I was wondering if the new height of the miniatures after rebasing could impact the game in any way, for example, by sticking out from behind cover or something similar.
If the height has no impact, it would probably be easier to rebase the miniatures.
Could I possibly ask you for a modification? Would it be possible to have the adapter without the objective slot?
I’m new to it too, from the rules I’ve seen you have to imagine a cylinder around your base and going up to the head, everything within that etc is a target, (guns, arm etc poking out do not count).
So the extra height could potentially make a difference but not by much, the adapter would add a mm or 2 at most. To some this could be playing to advantage/disadvantage but when you squabble over a mm or 2 you might as well be playing 40K… lol
As for the modification, there’s no need, I have a version with and without the objective slot, the one labelled with objective will have it, the version missing the name will be without. I will also be making a version that use 25mm fridge magnet style magnets that some use to stick under their bases, they are softer, have less pull but more often used with magnetic cases etc.
