Two architects have achieved a technical artistic feat with the Digital Grotesque project. This is a 3D-printed work of art the size of a 16m2 room. Entirely 3D printed, the piece aims to represent both chaos and order, the natural and the artificial. It took a year to create this masterpiece, as the 3D files were produced using a complex algorithm. Digital Grotesque weighs in at 11 tonnes and was made from sandstone. A considerable work that shows how 3D printing can help renew the contemporary art scene.
