Make’s description
Excellent build instructions, even for a newbie. Came out very well except for the bowden setup so converted to direct drive, prints brilliant now. Made some more changes, single Z drive with Nema 23, extra cooling, E3Dv6, RADDS/DUE control board, 3 point bed levelling with 300x200 silicon heater. Using 12v for hotend, motors and fans and 24v with DC SSR relay for heated bed. Also modded the X carriage belt fasteners, found the nuts very awkward so now I have a piece permanently bolted to the carriage with the clamp out more and easily accessible for tensioning.
I print at 80m/s by default for PLA, ABS, slightly slower for PETG and 25m/s for flexi. I think with some more tweaking should be able to get faster but 80 is fine for now.
I found too much play in Z axis using cheap Chinese trapezoid nuts so printed out the leadscrew clamp from here on Thingiverse with a custom mount for the 4020 rails. It's PLA so will wear but so far done many hours and still backlash free and I can just print another.
I print from a raspberry Pi using Repetier server and monitor with webcam.
I think Spauda01 did a fantastic job with this, and also the original C-BOT creator. Must have spent many hours on this for our benefit so many thanks to them.
