The skeleton of the left hand mirrors that of the right hand and is a complex structure that enables a wide range of movements, from delicate manipulation to powerful gripping. It's comprised of 27 bones, divided into three main sections:

Carpals: These eight small bones form the wrist. They are arranged in two rows:
Proximal Row (from the radius side): Scaphoid, Lunate, Triquetrum, and Pisiform.
Distal Row (from the radius side): Trapezium, Trapezoid, Capitate, and Hamate.
Metacarpals: These five long bones form the palm of the hand. They connect the carpals to the phalanges and are numbered one to five, starting from the thumb side.
Phalanges: These 14 bones form the fingers.
