Medium Vela 105 – With Professional Trigger System and Stainless Steel Accessories

Designed to offer greater robustness than the Inverter version, the Medium Vela 105 features increased thickness, allowing it to handle higher loads and longer lengths without structural flexing. Available in sizes from 105 to 135 cm, it is intended for the most demanding spearfishers.

3D Model for Speargun and Handle

Engineered for carving on exotic woods such as teak, iroko, and mahogany. The package includes .STEP and .STL files for accessories, compatible with 3D printing and CNC machining on plastic materials like Delrin.

Included DXF Projects

The package includes the complete professional trigger system with quick-release cam brackets in DXF format, ideal for laser cutting in stainless steel. Other included DXF files:

All files are accompanied by technical drawings in PDF format, complete with detailed bending and machining instructions.

Also included are DXF and PDF files for the pulley trolley, which can be produced via laser cutting in stainless steel or CNC milling in carbon fiber s—ideal for flat constructions without bending.

Speargun Machining

This model is optimized for hard wood engraving. The use of 3- or 4-flute wood-specific end mills is recommended. Inappropriate tools may compromise cutting quality.

With a 105 cm shaft travel, the speargun is suitable for all spearfishing techniques, including ambush hunting.

Trigger System – Precision and Safety

Designed with tolerances down to hundredths of a millimeter, the trigger mechanism ensures maximum safety and reliability. Laser cutting must be performed by qualified professionals to prevent malfunctions or accidental discharge.

Bending the trigger housing requires utmost precision: any misalignment may impair functionality.

Recommended materials for internal components:

• AISI 316 (not 316L)
• AISI 316Ti
• AISI 420
• AISI 440C
• AISI 630

The use of AISI 304 stainless steels (18/10 and 18/8) is strongly discouraged due to their low hardness and poor mechanical and wear resistance.

Strength Test: The trigger system successfully withstood 280 kg of static load for 48 consecutive hours without failure.

Wood Preparation

Due to the slim structure, it is advisable to use lightweight laminated wood packs with Okoumé strips to maintain optimal buoyancy. Central and side strips should be made from teak, iroko, or mahogany. The width of the central strip must match the distance between the pulleys at the head.

Reduction System and Performance

The reduction system increases power, range, and accuracy by enhancing shaft travel and acceleration. The Vela inverter system eliminates virtually all recoil, providing a highly stable trajectory.

The pulley system doubles shaft exit speed while reducing tension on the rubber bands.

Recommended configurations:

• 3 pairs of large-diameter bands (17.5 – 19 mm)
• or 4 pairs of medium-diameter bands (15 – 16 mm)

Bands run underneath the barrel, while the Dyneema shooting line runs above, improving handling and tracking speed.

For further space optimization: use the Croco block with integrated reel and the included “x6” reduction block.

Handle Finishing

Once engraved, the speargun is ready for assembly.
Only one manual operation is required: sanding and shaping the grip saddle (highlighted in pink in the photos), left unfinished to allow anatomical customization.

Three grip sizes included: small, medium, and large.

The handle can also be made from materials such as Delrin or glass-filled nylon. In this case:

• Do not use epoxy resins
• Use D4-class polyurethane adhesives
• Sand plastic surfaces before bonding
