Upgrade your Ender 3 V3 KE with this advanced filament sensor relocation system!
Reduce waste, improve filament flow, and boost reliability – especially in top-load setups.
What’s new in v2.1?
• Improved filament path with a smoother, more direct route
• Integrated 30-pin cable holder (optional, attaches with two M2 screws)
• Enhanced PTFE tube cap with a larger "bead" for easier filament swaps
• New replacement for original frame sensor mount with loop for 4mm temperature probe
• Bonus: Optional filament ramps from version 1 included – for extra guidance if desired
This upgrade helps you:
• Minimize waste: Shorter distance between the sensor and extruder means less leftover filament when a spool runs out.
• Improve print consistency: PTFE tube ensures a steady, protected filament path – no more tugging, snags, or tension issues.
• Avoid tangling: Especially useful with top-mounted spools where filament hangs freely.
• Print tall objects: Multiple guide heights let you fully utilize your build volume.
Key components:
Filament Sensor Holder + Cap
Securely mounts the stock Creality sensor directly on the printhead. Optional cap ensures tight PTFE fit.
30-pin Cable Clip
Snap-on clip for routing the sensor cable neatly along the 30-pin harness.
Top-Load Frame PTFE Guides (Low / High / Max Height)
Legacy ramps from version 1 included as optional accessories. While no longer required thanks to optimized routing, they offer additional filament guidance for specific setups. Swap out your stock frame clip with low-profile or extended PTFE guides – based on your preferred max print height (16 cm, 20 cm or 23.5 cm).
Frame Mount Replacement with Probe Loop
A minimalist frame-mounted PTFE entry point that replaces the original filament holder. Includes a loop for inserting a 4 mm temperature probe if used in an enclosure.
PTFE Tube Stopper Beads
Simple beads that keep the PTFE tube from sliding toward the spool. Print two to stabilize the tube in dynamic top-load setups.
Installation tips:
1. Remove original spool holder and sensor
2. Disconnect sensor cable from the 30-pin connector
3. Unscrew all 6 top screws on the frame and gently lift the top plastic part
4. Carefully route the cable through the left frame pillar
5. Reattach frame top and mount the new sensor holder
6. Use included clips to guide the cable neatly
7. Insert PTFE tube – use the cap and stopper beads if needed
8. Insert filament and start printing!
Looking for the Basic version instead?
The simpler original design (v1) is still available under the name Filament Sensor Relocation – Basic.
It includes core functionality with a ramp-based setup for standard filament routing.
