Fast-Print Stackable Parts Bins / Storage Boxes

Hi. Have you activated vase mode? (Spiral Vase in PrusaSlicer).

For this design, In PrusaSlicer I usually start with a standard profile such as '0.20mm Normal', then activate 'Spiral Vase', increase 'Extrusion Width' (all settings) to 0.8mm in Advanced Settings, and increase layer height to 0.32mm. Depending on the maximum flow rate of the printer being used, print speed may need to be reduced a little for optimal results.

Hello, thank you very much for the quick reply, I have set the vase mode, my first print was with the Orca Slicer which wasn't so nice, I'm currently doing the second print with the Pruca Slicer and with the settings you mentioned.

with Pruca the same problem, there are only strings on the lower edge, I have to send you a picture so you can see it

Thanks. Yes a photo would help. Just a thought... are you printing in the default orientation (tilted back 45 degrees)? The model needs this to slice correctly in vase mode.

How can I send you the pictures? I load the STL into the slicer and then print it with your settings.

The largest size was selected after testing, as this seemed to be the upper size limit for a strong/stable print using PLA at a 0.8mm line width. However, they do scale up well in the slicer (in fact, I saw a photo of one posted on Facebook a while ago at 300% scale). If scaling up, I would suggest using a large nozzle and increasing the line width above the recommended 0.8mm.

Regarding a deeper version, the existing depth was selected to maintain balance on the print bed (any deeper would risk the print tipping over during printing). If bed adhesion is good though, an increased depth should work. If you know how much of and increase in depth you require, I would be happy to provide a deeper version for you as this should be fairly simple to do.

Thanks for the answer. I was worried that simply scaling wouldn't work so well without adjustments but that doesn't look to be the case. I scaled the large extra-wide model up 150% in the Y and Z direction, and 125% in the X direction, and it printed without any issues, and still feels quite strong!

For what it's worth, I was also able to increase the line height to 0.36 and the wall print speed to 40m/s quite comfortably still with a 0.4mm nozzle, without any noticeable impact on print quality or stability, which is great.
