Accuracy:
In my tests with good print settings and good adjustments I was able to access a 98% accuracy. Of course, the accuracy of your print depends on your circumstances.
How it works:
Once inserted, the coins will be divided. The smallest 4 coins land on side, the biggest 4 coins on the other. The 4 coins roll down the slid on each side and fall throw their fitting hole. They land in their tray where they can then be taken out.
All parts can be fully 3d-printed, you will not need any additional parts. During the assembly some tools may be helpful.
3D printing settings
Printing:
- Print the main part using your standard settings - use s (I recommend using tree s as they are the easiest to remove)
- Print the 2 side s - you can either print them with just one color or print the lettering with one color first and after that print the side on the exact same place with your second colour - this way you will achieve 2-colour printing with your standard printer (see the detailed description below)
(I recommend using standard s for the small overhangs)
- print the coin insert in a upright position - I recommend using tree s
-print the lid using standard s
- print the 4 foots using standard s - there are 3 different sizes available so your can vary the high of the coin sorter for better access to the coins - you can also use different sized foods to relocate the organizer in one direction for better precision depending on the quality of your 3d-print
Assembly:
- remove the s from all parts
- slide the two side s in the main part - depending on your print quality the parts will fit very tight for a stable fit, if needed you can use a small hammer to insert the parts, make sure to slide in each on the right side
- put in the coin insert from the outside and slide it all the way in
- clip on the lid
- attach the feet to the bottom - you are ready to go!
2-color-printing with your standard printer:
In order to achieve this, you will have to start 2 separate prints with 2 different colors. Exactly overlay the lettering with the fitting in your slicer. Then print just the lettering in the first color (it will only print 1 layer). Dont remove it from the surface yet! After that, start the print of the without using s where the cutouts for the already printed lettering is. Make sure your printer doesn
t touch the already printed part during bed levelling. Then start the second print and you are ready to go.
Have fun with the helpful tool - if you have any questions regarding the print or assembly process feel free to me :)
