"I wanted to create a nutcracker that is truly robust, capable of being printed in PLA without any risk of breaking, and genuinely able to crush nuts and walnuts effortlessly. To achieve this, I designed an oversized nutcracker (weighing 294 grams fully assembled!) that ensures durability even when using standard PLA, without the need for stronger plastics like ABS.

I also considered ease of use, deg a screw with a very narrow pitch and a generously sized knob, allowing significant force to be applied with minimal effort.

Lastly, I added a vintage and personal touch to make it not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing—a piece you’d be proud to display on a shelf or table at home."
