Awesome print! Tried the xl version and had some various blobs on the model, ultimately causing it to fail, but may give it another go later. Decided to go with the large version with the bag and I have been enjoying the printing process! My only question was about the counterweight. Did you also print this in vase mode? or is it meant to be printed normally with a certain amount of infill? Thank you for the model.

Thanks for the positive .. I'm glad you are enjoying the design. The counterweight can also be printed in vase mode. I usually insert it into the lid with the bottom / closed side visible for a cleaner look.

I tried to print the extra large version a number of times with PETG. I have tried with your recommended settings as well as decreasing the layer height, but the adhesion between layers is just not great. I have also done temp tests, re-leveled the bed etc. and not sure what else I can do. Often the ridge pieces on the lid frame will start coming apart and the main body of the bin itself has poor layer adhesion on my printer (Neptune 3 max) which means it comes apart evry easily.

Bin does look great, pity I couldn't get the size I wanted to work, but I guess it's an amazing file for the speed at which it prints and how much material it saves, maybe just not great for the extra large size!

Hi, it can sometimes be a little challenging to achieve good layer adhesion in vase mode when printing with PETG. The XL version of the bin has printed well in PETG (as well as PLA, PLA+, and ABS) though, so hopefully by tweaking some slicer settings the layer adhesion issues you are experiencing can be resolved. The maximum overhang angle (mostly on the lid frame) in this model is around 45 degrees (for all versions/sizes), so this shouldn't be excessive for PETG.

Printing with a nozzle temperature at the higher end of the recommended range can often improve layer adhesion when printing with PETG, and slowing down the part cooling fan can also sometimes help. It may also be worth adjusting print speed. If you are only experiencing layer adhesion issues when printing the XL size of the bin, it does sound like it is likely a temperature/cooling issue, as the previous layer would have had more time to cool before the nozzle returns to the same position on the next layer.

Hi. If it's appearing solid in the slicer preview, vase mode probably isn't activated. The setting for this in Cura is 'spiralize outer contour'. Please note, there are also other specific print settings needed for this model , and these are detailed in the printing instructions.

love the file but one thing with the bag version is the lid frame prints with a bottom and i hade to cut it out maybe make one with no bottom thanks

Hi. This sounds like an issue with Cura 5.x, which ignores the recess in the bottom face and adds bottom layers. There is a section in the print instructions on how to avoid this (set bottom layers to zero - or use an alternative slicer or Cura version).
