This kit includes:
- New foot assembly, with side tilt and heel .
- Rotating lever arm that allows the backpack/front of the car to be rotated in place and positioned higher on the back.
- Attachment adapter to fit inside of the backpack and hold it in place by attaching to the 5mm port (that the spoiler would attach to)
- Spoiler Adapter so that it can be installed on the back pack and sit lower like in the video game.
- Wrist tube with a hole running through it, to allow for different hands to be inserted.
- Full set of replacement hands that can be changed in or out for further posability.
- Rear gun attachment with a 5mm port to work with the new hands.
This is a medium to high difficulty modification, depending on experience, available tools and confidence. It will also require painting.
Tools:
Pin punch
Pliers
1.5 mm steel rod
bolt cutter
All of these can be acquired on Amazon and are useful/can be used for any figure mod project.
Foot and shin assembly
To install this kit, you need to remove the stock foot and shin assembly from each leg (see the yellow circle in the attached picture of the figures leg). This is not a simple removal but it can be done with care and patience.
The foot and shin assembly is attached to a circular plastic feature at the base of the lower leg (It is the shin that is actually attached to this feature).
The feature needs to be cut off flush with the underside of the lower leg, leaving a flat surface, ready for the new 3d printed assembly to be installed.
The 3d printed assembly is comprised of 5 parts:
1. The main shin and upper ankle.
2. The ankle.
3. The bottom of the foot.
4. The front of the foot.
5. The heel.
These parts need to be assembled using the 1.5mm rods, cut to size.
Once assembled, the complete assembly can be installed by sliding part 1 up against the newly flattened lower leg and snapping into place where the stock shin used to be.
It should be a snug fit and seem like a natural extension of the lower leg.
Rotating Lever Arm
This replaces the stock, none rotating lever arm that allows the front of the vehicle mode to be stowed on the figures back in robot mode. The rotating version allows the front of the vehicle to be rotated and stowed higher on the back for improved aesthetics. For improved stability in this configuration, use the Attachment Adapter.
Installing this mod prevents the spoiler from attaching to the 5mm port. The spoiler can, however, be attached to the front of the car while in this configuration by using the Spoiler Attachment.
In order to install the rotating lever arm, the stock one must be removed using the pin punch tool to push out the stock 1.5mm rods used to hold in in place from the vehicles roof and front sections. Once the stock one is removed, just install the new one using the same 1.5mm rods.
Attachment Adapter. This part sits inside the hollow underside of the car front section and has a 5mm female port that allows the 5mm male port (used to hold the spoiler in place in the stock configuration) to connect to it and create a very snug fitted backpack.
Spoiler Adapter. This part is designed to allow the spoiler to slot onto it and then be plugged into the 2 x 4mm slot on the upper side of the vehicles front section. In robot mode, this allows the spoiler to sit lower on the back like in the video game.
In vehicle mode, the gun can attach to the Spoiler Adapter.
Wrist Tubes.
These replace the stock hands. Just pop out the stock hands and install the wrist tubes. No pins are required.
Replacement Hands. These can be installed and removed as desired using the male and female ports on the hands and wrist tube respectively. These should allow for plenty of posability options.
Rear Gun Attachment (still in beta design). This comprises 2 parts; a main section that attaches to the 5mm female port at the rear of the gun and a gun handle that enables the gun to be wielded with a 5mm handle for any 5mm enabled hands.
Note...Please let me know if you have any tolerance issues and I will try to help. Also, this is a complicated installation, if you need any additional instructions, message me.
