Bird Cathedral

This is a Bird Feeder for little Birds.
It's design is inspired by Gothic Cathedrals :-)
Only small Birds can get in due to the small openings.
Now they have a save place to eat and if necessary they can escape trough one of the four sides :-)

Of course there is also a place for bigger Birds to eat.
They can go to the Tower on top. This Tower is a Seed dispenser. It can be filled by taking the Tower Roof off.
By turning the green ring it is possible to regulate the amount of Seeds coming out.

The Bird Cathedral is designed to stand on a floor or table, but it is also possible to hang it from a tree. Then the Birds are less worried about Cats etc. :-)

The green center floor can be taken out for cleaning purposes.

To bad that the drawings with the assembly directions are not shown fully on the site. Luckily they are also shown in the “manual.pdf “ included with the files. :-)

It is hard to give precise amounts of material used, but I mostly used these settings for my printers:

0,4mm Nozzle
0,2 mm resolution /layer hight
4 top & bottom layers
3 wall layers (but for smaller peaces like the windows 2 wall layers)
infill 20% (but 15% is also possible for some parts)
Skirt 2 lines

So then you should need around:

White PLA around 2900 gram
Green PLA around 550 gram
PET-G around 10 gram.

Time....... I used mostly the settings:

print speed 38mm/s
wall speed 30mm/s
inner wall 30mm/s
top/bottom 25mm/s
travel 60 mm/s
initial layer 25mm/s
Retract distance 6,5 mm
(for some parts (like the tower top roof) I needed to turn the Feed rate back to 38%)
(print is only used on “base center floor.stl”)

and that will take you to around 313 hours :-)

Yes I know, printing can be done faster :-) I just use more printers :-) Of course do what works best for you :-) this is just an example to give you an idea how long it will take.
