I spent my childhood watching my mother work as an embroiderer. As a teenager, I started modelling embroidery files and improved a lot over the years, but I never considered the possibility of selling files online.
But one day I had the pleasure of working with Nicolas (one of the co-founders of Zou3d) at a company here in Brazil, and I am grateful to this day for showing me the potential of online sales.
I was able to follow the beginning of his career in 3D printing and decided to do the same with my embroidery files on the Etsy platform. But what I didn't expect was that the platform wouldn't accept Latin Americans due to some bureaucratic procedures with the governments of the region.
Unable to sell the embroidery files because I didn't have a residence outside of Brazil, but super excited to sell online, I started learning to model with Nicolas (an excellent mentor), who I still bother from time to time lol. That's how Osmia Confections came about.
When choosing the name of my profile, I wanted to pay homage to my mother. Osmia is an anagram of her name that I found very beautiful, besides representing a species of bee, which I didn't know at the time. Confections are so that I will never forget the years of hard work we had together.
I really hope to honour her legacy through this channel, as well as providing my followers with the best designs I can produce.
I am currently still balancing work with 3D printing, but as soon as I have enough contributors, I promise to dedicate myself 100% to this art that I fell in love with.
