Piper Cub 1/4 scale dummy engine

Just ed your cub motor stl. Nice thank you, however I would like to print a version with complete solid cylinders and not have the air intake covers. Can you assist?
I have CAD if you are willing to share a parasolid or iges or step file, otherwise hoping at least for a solid engine version stl

The Hobbyking Cub is 1:4,5 scale so scaling the parts to 88% will make them the right size. Expect a weight of 100-150 g.

Sorry for the disappointment. It's an old design and I will lower the price. As it says above it's a semi scale dummy engine. I never claimed it to be a perfect scale engine. The only you need is under the exhaust pipes. I have printed several exactly as they are set up in the files. The air baffles over the cylinders glue in place easily after printing. If you're not happy with it please Cults for a refund.

Overall these are okay. There are no mounting points for the eyebrows. You will have to come with your own. The corner seam quality of the eyebrows is poor. While this engine is much more detailed than what comes with many kits, I would consider it stand-way-off scale. It will take a lot of complex s to print as supplied and I will be making many changes before I even try it. It's hard to tell what you're getting from the pictures and I expected a lot better for the money.

I don't use Cura myself.Not sure what's wrong. It should slice correctly in Simplify 3D with 0,4 mm extrusion. It must be a problem with your settings.

How do you slice it with cura? i do not scale down the model

If you hav escaled it down to a smaller size then the text will obviously also be smaller.

Try setting it to 0,35 or 0,3 then. It's possible to print as thin as 0,25 with a 0,4 mm nozzle with good printers.

It is set to manual with 0,4mm

If the continental letters don't show then the slicer probably creates an extrusion width higher than 0,4 mm.In Simplify this can be set independent of the nozzle width.

For 1:6 scale rescale the parts to 66,67% in the slicer.

can I find the finished files on a 1/6 scale ?, do I need them, or alternatively, what scale can I change? and the whole scale is 1/6

The whole part bundle takes up 192x198 mm of print area in 1/4 scale size. If you separate the parts it takes up less.

Can you provide the dementions of the dummy engine please? I have a friend that’s going to print it for me. Thanks!

@AMC You can scale the model to any size you want in the slicer. 80% scale is close to 1/5 scale. I have printed 1/5 scale version and even 1/3 scale versions myself.

You can separate the parts in your slicer. The slicer should have that function. In Simplify 3D it's called "Separate connected Surfaces".

Hi. The original CAD is designed in 3D STudio Max as a mesh, so the STL is the same as the 3DS model.
