A 3D-printed lamp inspired by the shape of a seashell

This magnificent lamp for 3D printing at home is the work of designer Rem_S, who is offering it as a free . The shape of this object is inspired by nature, more specifically by the shape of a shell, both round and with prickly edges to enable it to face up to possible dangers.

In this creation, the designer had the idea of playing on the thickness of the lamp to create a gradient effect. The protruding elements are fuller and therefore diffuse less light, while the rest of the object is much less full to let more light through. For this effect to work perfectly, Rem_S reminds us that you need to 3D print with 100% fill. Because if you print with a honeycomb filling, for example, it will show through and the lamp will lose its beauty.
