The result of a collaboration between
theFabShop and the
Maison & Objet trade show, this collection has been entirely designed for 3D printing. All
3D files for the collection can be ed exclusively
here on the
Cults marketplace. The objects were designed and manufactured by Canadian designer
Samuel N. Bernier, Creative Director of
leFabShop. The concept of the collection:
lamps,
clocks and
containers inspired by the cities hosting the international trade show,
Paris,
Miami and
Singapore. The
Paris theme is inspired by the world-renowned architecture of
Gustave Eiffel. The lines play skilfully with the metal structures of the
Eiffel Tower, bringing an industrial edge to these everyday objects. The
Miami range captures the sunny light characteristic of
Florida. An energetic yellow color, with its beaches, people, streets and textures. Once in place, these designs will brighten everyone's life. Finally, the
Singapore category of the Maison & Objet collection deftly handles the concept of transparency. A concept inherent to the omnipresence of water in this maritime city. The designer played with the various reflections on the windows of the city's skyscrapers. The aim of this project is to empower people through
3D printing, giving them the opportunity to be makers, consumers and critics of their products. On the technical side, each object has been designed to be manufactured in several stages on a
Makerbot Replicator (or equivalent
3D printer ), then mechanically assembled. However, the lamps can be printed in a single operation using
MakerBot's Z18, a large-format
3D printer.
