Anycubic has been surprising as of late with a slew of new, innovative and affordable 3D printers, and the 3D printer Anycubic Photon Zero is no exception.
Let’s dive right in here… The Photon Zero was designed for anyone from the seasoned resin printer, to a complete novice. Although it does not boast the same size print platform or a 2K screen as it’s bigger brothers (The Photon and Photon S), it does include a few new features that we think are welcomed changes and upgrades.
As a whole, the Photon Zero is smaller, lighter and we think easier to operate. The completely removable top cover blocks 99.95% of any external UV light, so you never have to worry about your prints. But it’s transparency is fantastic, so you can always see what’s going on inside without ever having to lift the cover.
The combination of a lead screw partnered up with a linear rail provides a stable and smooth operation of the Z axis. Removing that heavier style back plate also takes a lot of stress off the Z motor. The entire brushed aluminum build platform is lighter as well, additionally relieving stress from the motor.
16X Antialiasing gives you the ability to create highly detailed prints on a standard 1080P screen, instead of needing a 2K or 4K screen.
The redesign of the Photon Zero UV lighting system using parallel lights drastically increases the quality of the prints.
The cooling system built in to the Photon Zero ensures proper airflow and cooling for the UV lighting system to provide longer life from your UV system as a whole.
Now if these features weren’t enough, let’s toss in a few more! As mentioned earlier, the build surface is made of brushed aluminum, so you should never have to worry about your prints sticking to the build surface. No need for extra sanding to prepare the surface anymore.
Also, one of my personal favorite features is the markings inside the resin vat, so there’s no more guessing on how much resin you have in there, and if you have enough to finish your print!
The last feature I will bring up is the faster FEP replacement. We all know that replacing the FEP can be a lengthy process and no one really loves doing it. With the new system in the Photon Zero there are far fewer screws, and replacing your FEP is easier than ever!
So all in all, the Anycubic Photon Zero is creating it’s own class in affordable resin printing. And at a price point of well under $200USD, these little guys are going to be hard to keep in stock!
