Make’s description

The gastralia were relatively easy to print and I managed to finish them in only a few days. If you are using a FDM printer make sure your printer is well calibrated as I found the various pieces were prone to stringing during the print. I also found the hole in each piece is to narrow for the rod used within the head and neck, so an additional brass rod with a diameter of 1/8 an inch (approx 3.2 mm) to use as the . I needed 31 cm straight length of brass rod to connect the gastralia to the pubis and sternum then put a slight curve in the rod to match the spine.

Printed with s and a brim. Filled any defects with wood filler, then painted each piece with 3 coats, burnt umber base coat, water down mats black, dry brushed burnt sienna.
