a brief introduction to the principle of tensegrity.
That is in 1948, Richard Buckminster Fuller, an American who was not only a philosopher but also an outstanding architect and inventor, mentioned an interesting concept in his speech at Black Mountain College, "Small islands of compression in a sea of tension." He likened the celestial bodies in the universe to be like isolated islands floating in the ocean of gravitational pull, pulled and pressed by the gravitational pull. In nature, the phenomenon of "intermittent pressure (discontinuous pressure)" and "continuous pull" coexist and interact with each other. Later also the famous sculptor Kenneth Snelson.He was studying in Fuller's team at the time. Inspired by Fuller's metaphor, He became very interested in this concept. Therefore, in 1948, He designed an installation art work called "Snelson's X" based on this concept and obtained a patent. Color: The model I build is just for test the function, so no any color apply. You can be use my color rendering for color reference.
Remark: I process many different diameter of the ROPE to test the function, to ensure the ROPE is not easy to break when loading heavy weight and keep it is small as possible.
