Hey nice work! I will implement your air assist when my AtomStack A5 30W arrives!
In the picture I can see an air outlet from the laser area that goes into a compartment above the laser.
How does that work, is there a fan involved and is it useful?
Could you share the design as well? :-)
I was thinking of providing an outlet for all the generated smoke and this seems to be an option.

Firstly I will point out that this is a remix from the Thingiverse design and just I made it from measurements taken from the original.
Yes it does work nicely, and is powered by using an aquarium pump and using silicone air line that is used with those pumps.
If I recall the pump outputs about 3 litres of air a minute.
I do have a work in progress to remove the smoke and draw it through a carbon filter mounted on the top of the laser. I can still smell the smoke but the problem seems much reduced. Not completely ideal and the filter isn't cheap The filter I'm using is for a welding mask and has the charcoal
filter built in, it is an odd shape though so I had to make a holder for it.
The fan sits on top of the filter and pulls the air through.
