Raytheon AIM-9L Sidewinder Missile
This is my extreme detailed 3D printable replica of the Raytheon AIM-9L Sidewinder Missile with LAU-105 Launch Rail. Every effort was made to include EVERY possible detail as accurate as possible. Entire rear wing assembly is rendered from real AIM-9L parts. This model is extremely accurate and ridiculously detailed!
There are over 100 printable parts and more than 300 fasteners. Fastener rendered files are included but you can use real fasteners for a more realistic look. The live models I build look so realistic because I use as many separate parts as possible.
A complete fastener and hardware list is included so you don't have to go crazy trying to figure out what you need or where to get it. The list I provide has all real U.S. Military MilSpec Standard Fastener part numbers, but you can substitute with hardware store fasteners. Most fasteners have McMaster Carr or Amazon parts numbers. eBay is also a good place to source hardware. This can be used to directly order parts or as a reference of what substitutes to order.
The LAU-105 Launch Rail is rendered from a real LAU-105 I own. It is extremely accurate. The AIM-9L will attach to the LAU-105
** The LAU-105 Launch Rail does NOT need to be 3D Printed, it's an option
** You do NOT need to 3D Print the LAU-105 Launch Rail, It's Optional

My focus on all my renders is extreme detail and accuracy. If there is a more accurate AIM-9L render out there, it’s probably owned by Raytheon!
I have sold completed full scale replicas to many active & retired military personnel, including several U.S. Navy Fighter Pilots, U.S. Airforce Drone Pilots, and even a Swiss Army Commander.
A U.S. Military E.O.D. Specialist inspected a completed full-scale model of an AIM-9L Sidewinder I built from this file and said,
“If you threw this in a rack with others, I would not be able to tell this wasn’t real”
I also rendered AIM-9X Sidewinder, AGM-114R Hellfire, AIM-120C/D AMRAAM, AT4 Rocket Launcher(entirely modeled from a real AT4), & AIM-54C Phoenix to the same standards as this model.
These files are also available on cults3d.sitegames.net
SIMPLIFIED VERSION AVAILABLE
Is this way too complicated and involved for you, or maybe you just want something more basic!?
Understood! I have a Simplified Version of the AIM-9L and AIM-9X Sidewinder.
I used all the parts from this model and combined as many parts together as I could.
This drastically cut down the number of parts to print.
I incorporated lines, chamfers, filets, and seams to help retain the ‘Separate Part Look’.
