Model description
The model offers a clear and accurate representation of a reference frame in three-dimensional space.
This three-axis 3D backhoe model is the perfect tool as a reference for 3D modeling, use in mathematical activities, algebra classes, study of vectors, forces, Newton's laws, vector product, rotations, reference system change, ..., graphics, computer graphics, mechanical system modeling, ...
Example of a digital representation of a 3D backhoe :

Model composition
1 cubic body designed with four precision holes to easily insert arrows representing the X , Y and Z. Z axis can be positioned either above or below the cube.
3 arrows each representing the direction of one of the primary axes (X, Y, Z) and their corresponding positive directions consisting of 3 axis + 3 arrowhead (In separate parts for better and easier 3D printing)
All files are as STL file, 3 separated files.
Included 3mf file (generated in Bambu Studio)
Assembly
Glue the arrowhead to the top of the axis and insert the axes into the holes on the body as needed.
Printing tips and Recommendations
For enhanced clarity and to match standard CAD representations, it’s recommended to print the axes in three distinct colors: Red for the X-axis, Green for the Y-axis, and Blue for the Z-axis. These colors are commonly used in CAD tools and 3D visualization software, helping to visually differentiate the axes and improving the overall understanding of the coordinate system.
Applications
-Educational Tool: This model is perfect for teaching vector mathematics, algebra, and 3D geometry. It helps students better understand complex concepts like vector products, cross products, rotations, and reference system transformations.
-Mechanical and Engineering Simulations: It is also highly useful in the fields of mechanical engineering and robotics for simulating and understanding three-dimensional movements, including pitch, roll, and yaw. It offers a visual framework for explaining spatial rotations and the relationship between multiple axes.
-CAD & 3D Modeling: Ideal for 3D modelers and CAD professionals, the model provides a clear reference for visualizing coordinate systems, making it easier to comprehend and implement spatial transformations in designs and simulations.
-Graphics and Visualization: Whether for computer graphics, animation, or digital visualizations, this model helps provide a tangible reference to ensure accurate spatial orientation in digital environments.
⚠️Disclaimers and Warnings
Be careful, the model contains sharp parts and small parts that can detach and cause serious problems. Be sure to correctly glue the parts and remove the arrows if not used. Always use with adult supervision.
