3D model description
Fractal Vise are cool because it can grip most items you can place them. I am kind of late to the game but I have the drive to make this as per my design requirement goes.
This is a fully 3d printable modular fractal vise, well except the fractals that is. Most other designs utilizes dovetail slots to have these fractals able to swivel in place. I took a different approach to have it print in place, no assemblies required on the fractals side. Oh, not to mention, each one of the designs has tolerance already added into the model itself so a finely tuned machine might not be okay with it.
My design requirements for this are as follows:
- Fully 3d printed
- Fully serviceable
- Easy to replace when nut/fastener/pins broke
- Expandable and modular
- Less 3d object files needed
- Symmetrical and reusable on both sides
- Tolerance suit to your machine's spec
- No unique parts
NOTE
I didn't incorporate any tolerance in the models. Therefore you must adjust them by yourself in the slicer settings, see "3D Printing Settings" section for details on how to print this.
Please print the test print first and fine tune your tolerance level that you will accept before buying this design.
Please see 3d printing settings for folder named Must Adjust, No Adjustment folder can be left alone
About the models
- You can ignore Single/Dual/Triple Nut Slider and use Slider Frame.stl, You also must print 1 or 2 Nut Cap.stl
- Nut Cap.stl applies only for Slider Frame.stl and optional for Triple Nut Slider.stl. They're needed to keep the printed nut in place while turning the screws.
- Single/Dual/Triple Nut Slider are beefier but not made to be End frame
- I put a lot into considerations when creating this such as rigidity and ease of assembly
- You can scale down the fractals.stl to reduce plastic usage further on Z Scaling -All models has been oriented to be printed optimally for best rigidity.
Update

31st March 2022
Fixed a problem where the model are fused together when viewing the print preview.
Disclaimer
I have no intention of discrediting or make fun of other's design when I stated anything regarding tolerance already added into the models. It is only my opinion regarding tolerance.
3D printing settings
You MUST ADJUST the following according to your printer's spec and your liking for the folder Must Adjust
- Slic3r XY Compensation
- Cura Horizontal Expansion
Turn on s only on bed for fractals.stl.
Use Fuzzy Skin with Only Outside Walls option for Knob.stl for better grip
The rest of the objects don't need s. They're optimisd to be printed without it. You can add s yourselves if you're scared
