3D model description

This tool can be clamped into a reciprocating saw/band saw to cut pipe for an exhaust merge collector, it enables you to accurately cut multiple tubes and easy repeatability

This is for 1.5" Inch(38.1mm) Tubing with any wall thickness

It has 0.1mm clearnance all the way round the tube, for ease of installation but also not too much to cause the tube to move when cutting, some prints may require sanding slightly for the tube to fit perfectly.

3.5 Degree Adapter(Increases the merge angle to 15 degrees)

6.5 Degree Adapter(Increases the merge angle to 18 degrees)

Examples of 11.5 and 15 degree cut pipes for the various cylinder counts, I will add that other angles as I make them.

this tool also requires an M8 x 30mm Bolt(Bolt can be longer) and an M8 Nut.

To Use the tool:

  1. Cut a pipe to length and slide into the jig, and seat to the bottom of the hole.

  2. Tighten the bolt so the pipe is held firmly in the jig.

  3. Place in jig in the the clamp on the saw so the pipe is vertical and the bolt facing away from the saw blade

  4. Set the jig so the blade will remove the desired depth from the pipe and tighten the clamp on the saw, then make the first cut.

(The depth of cut on the tube will determin the size of the exit when all of the tube are placed together, cutting more will make for a smaller hole)

  1. Select the desired cut marker for the cumber of cylinders you are merging and place onto the jig, then draw a mark on one end, then loosen the bolt and rotate this mark to the other side of the cut marker and tighten down the bolt.

  2. Make the second cut, the pipe can then be de bured and the next pipe installed to be cut without having to remove the jig from the clamp on the saw
