The content published on the site serves only the interests of its authors and not those of 3D printer brands who also wish to control the 3D modeling market.
Periodically you might have to replace the push lock release safe as the spring deteriorates over time, especially if you keep an item in it and the spring compressed for a long time. Also, to keep the pot watertight probably should use a PVA Adhesive. And then also use the PVA Adhesive on the safe to keep the water out of whatever you hide in the safe. Cool design and nice idea.
Thank you for the kind words!
I purposely designed the mechanism so that the spring has almost no compression in the resting position, same for the guiding pin. I’ve had this mechanism for over a year now, and it still works perfectly :) No deterioration so far, and I think it will work for many years to come.
Newer machines, like the ones from Bambu Lab, almost always print watertight, but well-calibrated older printers, like my Ender 3, can also achieve this. If you notice that your prints aren’t coming out watertight, PVA adhesive can be a great solution, though.
Thanks for the reply. I'll make the purchase in a couple days. I have an Ankermake M5 and also a Voron 2.4. Both should do a good job but I have PVA adhesive just in case. Cheers and very nice design and thanks for the reply.
