Have printed with PETG, no questions about printability. Everything is great! The model is definitely worth its money. But there is a comment on functionality. The fingers of the hand do not hold the cup at all. Maybe it would be worth changing the position of the thumb and little finger to the detriment of physiology for the sake of functionality.

Just printed the hand on the Bambu Lab A1 Mini and I'm now printing the disc on a separate plate (wouldn't fit on one). The hand came out amazing!! I just used basic black PLA. It took about 3 hours. No s. I'm glad I read your comment about the little tabs on the base of each finger because I was trying to figure out if those were just brims that should come off or not. I'll return and edit with pictures when the disc is done and its assembled.

Do I have to print with function? My slicer shows me a warning when I slice without .

I got both this and the skeletal hand version. My only concern is glasses set on it don't sit level, and my concern is they fall off or a hot beverage gets spilled. The disc portion also seems very thin for the weight of a ceramic cup filled with liquid. The design is fun and clever though!

I used the settings that came with the file and it printed great! Disclaimer: If you use prusa slicer and change the printer you are using in the main window,all the settings get lost and you have to change them to the right values!

hi,when i import your project file into prusa slicer i see and infill of 15%.you said 30% in another comment, so should i change that? are the other settings good to go like speed and layer attributes? Can i use gyroid as the infill as well?

My hand doesn't pop back open when I take the cup off the plate. What have I done wrong?

Hi, There is a 0.2mm flat element next to each finger that acts as a spring, pushing them back into place. Didn't you accidentally remove them after printing (they look a bit like brim for adheshion) or did they become severely deformed when removing the print from the buildplate?

Hi - the print failed right at the end - the tops of the fingers have all twisted and malformed - could it be that because the fingers are articulated they could have caused it all to twist? anyone else had this problem ?

infill density is 30% wall thickness is 1.2 wall line count is 3 print speed is 30mm/sec inner wall is 60mm/sec outer wall speed is 15mm/sec

Maybe fingers got detached from build plate on the last few layers? Or it was a partial extruder clog?

Great print! I had no trouble at all printing it in PLA on my Bambu Lab P1P. One small change I made was to print the circular disk part separately so i could use different colors (also modified it to include a pentagram - black disk with embedded red pentagram). Seemed to fit the theme better :)

You really shouldn't be charging for this print. I have tried this 3 times now and every print has failed. My brother tried it too and his also, failed. I've used standard pla, pla c and petg. None work.

Super Design und unkomplizierter Druck. Habe nur das Problem, dass sich der Teller unter Gewicht nicht gleichmäßig vollständig absenkt , bedingt durch die Stütze am Handballen. Muss da noch zusätzlich etwas entfernt werden? Habe dieses Midul schon gelockert, verstehe aber nicht ganz wie sich dieser Stift ausreichend absenken soll.

Thank you for your kind words. From what I understand, when it comes to next to wrist, it should lower down just like the other ones. Check if there is no snagging anywhere in the slot. Also, try putting your drink closer to the three middle fingers - they will push the drink to best position untill pinky and thumb will catch it from sides.

I'm having this same problem. the by the wrist will not fold down. I can't find any images from the bottom of the hand so I can see what this is supposed to look like...how it is supposed to move. Any help would be appreciated!

Nevermind! I somehow inadvertently added s in the wrist area and when I ripped them out, the hand functioned properly.

Hi, firstly please don't use brim or raft with this print. Also check the last photo, and be sure to not remvoe showed pads after print, they are part of the mechanism.

when I printed this this the portion you reference at .2mm is only one layer on my printer which was not strong enough to flex back up. How can I make this more layers? I am using Orca slicer with GratKit fast PLA. Aside from that the rest of the print looked great.

@bobisworking It can't be thicker because it will become a solid piece instead of being springy :)
Ensure that the fingers can move freely and the spring pads remain flat( be careful not to deform them when removing the print from the build plate.)
Check for excessive friction when the small table moves. Sometimes, a large seam can form on the cylindrical part, which may require sanding to ensure the parts work together smoothly. Too much friction can cause the springs to not have enough force to retract the fingers.
You can also try to smooth out the bottom of the "small table" or reprint it with ironing on.
In case reprinting of the main hand is needed, make sure your bed is well leveled and your initial layer height is set to 0.2 mm

Mine came apart when pulling off the bed…but all was not lost. I trimmed up a playing card and glued to the areas where the spring like layers were situated and it works like a charm.

Hello, I tested this model using PLA and SILK filaments, and unfortunately, I have very limited experience with ABS. So, I can't be certain about printing a whole thing in it. But if you have capability to print ABS with small amount of warping and good bridging it should be ok :)
