Why our drip irrigation is still reliable - if you set it up correctly

Our drip irrigation system with PET bottle and adjustable tap is based on a simple but very effective physical principle: the interaction of air pressure, water pressure and surface tension.

A frequent point of criticism is that the dripping is not always completely uniform or that it is difficult to adjust. And yes - as with many natural processes, this sometimes requires a little patience and sensitivity. However, this is not a fault in the system, but part of the functional principle.

What exactly is happening?

As soon as the bottle is turned upside down and the tap is opened, the water starts to drip. Initially, it flows faster because no vacuum has yet built up in the bottle. However, with each drop, a small vacuum is created, which counteracts the flow of water - until equilibrium is reached. The dripping speed then decreases, but stabilizes. This effect is additionally ed by the surface tension of the water, which prevents it from simply running out in an uncontrolled manner.

Why is this good?

It is precisely this self-regulating effect that ensures that the plant is evenly supplied with water for hours or even days - without any electricity, sensors or complicated technology. Once you have found the right setting, you benefit from a simple, sustainable and ingeniously affordable solution for watering plants.

Our tip:

Open the tap a little wider at the beginning so that the dripping is clearly visible. Then slowly turn it back until the desired dripping speed is reached. After a short time, the system will regulate itself - simply observe, test a little and everything will run as desired.

Our plant watering system works very simply:

1. simply connect the appropriate water bottle.

2. insert the watering posts into the flower pot.

3. poke a small hole in the bottom of the bottle to let the water out.

4. open the control valve.

Our new plant watering device has an adjustable valve that allows you to control the drip rate. You can set the flow rate for 1-15 days or even longer, depending on how long you will be away.
