So I printed this and for some reason the door will not open after putting all the screws in. It looks like the locking mechanism the Round Orange part on your is getting stuck closed. IDK if I have done something wrong or what. I know the pins that lock it are retracting far enough cause I took off the front to see then when I did is when I noticed what was happening. Any fix or ideas of what might be going on?

Is it just the back plate part or the entire orange assembly? The orange parts and the doorframe should have enough tolerance to move freely, but something like elephant foot might change that. Alternatively, if the orange part does fit through the doorway without sticking, but you are just having trouble hinging it open, the door does need to be pulled straight out and then hinged open. Let me know which issue it is.

Alright so it is mostly sticking right at the edge the entire orange assembly, for elephants foot I actually had that at the beginning when I first got my printer but ever since I got it dialed in I very rarely have elephants foot now and it doesn't look like I have that here, and as for the fitting the orange part goes through the opening freely during the assembly. It looks like maybe a 1 - 2 mm difference in the door opening might help it. I hate to ask you and I would hate to waste filament testing this out but could you make it 2mm wider maybe and then me print it to test?

Sounds like the issue might be that the hinge is bolted too tightly? The hinge part need to slide freely linearly too so that you can pull out the door before swinging open.

Ok so after looking yes you are right it is bolted too tightly. I didn't know it had to move linearly as well. So it is working now. But while I do love the design I do feel like it should have to also move linearly to be able to open it. But still awesome design.

Hi I am so sorry to bother you again. But is there any way you can make the hinge on the door itself slightly thicker? When opening the vault if you are not very careful due to it being thin it can break. IDK if anyone else has had this issue or not but I have. Especially when I didn't know how to open it properly it broke as well.

Great design - the small teeth of the middle gear are quite difficult to print with a normal 0.4mm nozzle. I might have to reprint those two parts with a smaller nozzle if they don't grab. The one critique I have is that the pins print MUCH more reliably standing up than laying on their side as they are oriented in the STL. You mentioned the files were preoriented but I have them fail on both of my printers in this orientation regardless of the speed I ran at.

Might just be slicing settings and printer-specific. They printed without issues for me on the side, similarly with the gear, all on 0.4mm nozzle. Slow down the initial layer significantly if you are having trouble with adhesion. I printed those on glass bed without glue, at around 12.5mm/s for the initial layer. Hope that helps

I've printed gear 5mm and Handle at 105% to increase middle gear and 5mm gear overwize both don't grab very well
