Any pointers for printing this on an FDM printer? I am having a very bad time with the models, only the head managed to print properly.
The problem isnt in the model. My figure was entirely printed from PLA without a problem on an FDM printer, but it was scaled to 38cm height.
What exactly are the problems you are experiencing? Also, what size are you trying to print it?
The scale I am printing at is as is in the stl files. The issues I am getting are with the more "pointy" parts of the models, they just don't adhere correctly and the print goes bad.
For example I tried printing the torso on its back and upright, on it's back the "backbones" lost their structure, while in the upright position the "scales" on the back and front which touch the plate lost their structure. When I tried printing the one of the feet in upright position 3 times something broke off.
I am using a tree for this, I am going to try with a normal and try to rotate the models to a less "pointy" position. Also print speed is 60mm/s on a Ender 3 V3 SE.
Any tips are appreciated.
I will check the model again. As far as i can it was scaled to 10cm height, in which case it should be printed out of resin on a SLA printer. Smaller, pointier, highly detailed parts should always be printed out of resin.
At it's longest, the torso is 76.5mm, so yeah, I guess it's scaled to 10cm. I will try to upscale it and see what happens.
If you want to print it on the FDM printer, it should be at least 15-20cm in height. The best option if you want to print it at 10cm height is to print the smaller parts on an SLA printer.
