It's a nice design, but I don't see how it relates specifically to board games - I don't think it could fit more than a few chess pieces (unless you print it 3x larger, of course), and I'm not sure it could be used as a deck of cards.
I think it would be disappointing if this piece won.
Because if it does, a pretty design wins regardless of the subject matter.
Maybe you could submit this as a watch box for a watch contest.
Anyway, good luck with the contest.
