3D model description
Here's my personal custom Thunderbolt "Idaho Sally" that I designed and even have been using in the recent campaigns I've been playing in.
The file includes 3 different looks to the Sally all very similar some just have cosmetic details as well as the 5 and 7s loadouts all of which come with a preed version. Also included are the custom record sheets of two of her variants the base model 5IDS and the 7IDS and a blank base but you can use any that you like.
The standard TDR-5IDS is designed in 3055 for long to medium range combat armed with 2 Stabilized Defiance Industries Corean Light Gauss Rifles, 3 Earthwerks Incorporated Diverse Optics Type 18 Medium Lasers, 1 Taurus Territorial Industries Delta Dart LRM-5, and 1 Olivetti Weaponry Surefire 444 AMS. Carrying 2 tons of ammo for the Light Guass rifles leaves the IDS ready for rather long engagements with up to 16 rounds of continuous fire from both. Both the LRM-5 and AMS have 1 Ton of ammo allowing for 24 and 12 shots respectively. For these weapons the 5IDS carriers an RCA Instatrac Mark X Targeting and Tracking System along side a Neil 8000 Communication Suite. Both of which are built by Earthwerks Incorporated. Unfortunately the decision was made to switch to a smaller cockpit resulting in a very cramped cockpit. To carry and contain the weaponry and technology the 5IDS has an Earthwerks TDR II Endo Steel Chassis built by Earthwerks Incorporated on Keystone and 12.5 tons of Gibson Federated BattleMechs Durallex Light Ferro-Fibrous Armor. And finally to power the mech she runs off of an Earthwerks Incorporated Magna 260 Light Fusion Engine carrying 10 double heat sinks.
The TDR-7IDS designed in 3067 is more of an all-around Brawler switching to mostly clan tech by dropping the 2 Light Gauss Rifles for 2 Stabilized Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifle 20s built on Sudeten by Olivetti Weaponry. It still carries 3 Earthwerks Incorporated Diverse Optics Type 18 Medium Lasers, but swaps out the Taurus Territorial Industries Delta Dart LRM-5 for a Bergan Industries Type V "Bear Cub" LRM-5, and the Olivetti Weaponry Surefire 444 AMS for a Vehicular Grenade Launcher loaded with Chaff grenades. Carrying 4 tons of ammo for the Hyper-Assault Guass rifles though heavier than the previous variants leaves it only 12 rounds of fire from both HAGs or 24 if you alternate fire. The LRM-5 still carries 1 ton of ammo allowing for 24 rounds of fire. The vehicular grenade launcher adds some quick Concealment and ECM coverage thanks to the chaff grenades. For these weapons the 7IDS still carriers an RCA Instatrac Mark X Targeting and Tracking System along side a Neil 8000 Communication Suite. Both of which are built by Earthwerks Incorporated. The cockpit is switched back to the standard size Giving the pilot more space. To carry and contain the weaponry and technology the 7IDS has an Experimental Earthwerks TDR II Endo-Composite Chassis designed by the Lyran Alliance. The 7 also swaps the Durallex Light Ferro-Fibrous Armor for 11 tons of Olivetti Weaponry Forging Omni H24 Clan Ferro-Fibrous Armor instead. And finally to power the mech she switches back to an Earthwerks Incorporated Magna 260 Fusion Engine.
Anyways hope you guys enjoyed the fluff it was fun looking up the lore on companies manufacturers and the like. If you guys print any them make sure to use hot water when pulling off the s it makes it easier and helps not break the antennas. There is some small cavities in the head of the Sallys but they're so small that they cure anyways.
Again hope you enjoy.
EDIT: I added some model photos they may not be the greatest as I did them on my phone not my model photo set up so. The Green one is the 7IDS while the Purple is the 5IDS. Also I broke the 7's antenna Lol so thats why it looks like that.
