3D model description
This is a Twin Tractor Beam inspired or TTB front suspension kit for the SCX24. It is designed to work with stock, or Mofo RC Brass portal knuckles for extra front clearance, or upward offset. The shock towers are raised to help counter for the lift that the portals create. If you are running stock knuckles it should work as well but be aware your front has a lot of up travel with that set up, which might be preferred for some. The servo and magnet body mount was designed around using an emax servo (ES08MAII). The Magnet mount has since been updated to also clear high voltage servos with a similar length profile as the eco power 12g digital micro servo. The eco power and emax are confirmed fitments.
The chassis used for the design are stock SCX24 deadbolt rails so you do not need any special chassis. As long as the aftermarket chassis has the same holes in the front frails (which most do) then the kit should work still just fine but has not been tested. (should also work just fine with any of the scx24 stock rails but has not been tested by myself.
Motor set up- If you are wanting to keep things budget and simple this set up was designed and tested with a Mofo RC Buzzsaw motor mod .5 gears and a 12t rear overdrive and stock esc/receiver. Going brushless like a furitek or something more powerful can wake this thing up on a whole new level if that's what you're looking for, otherwise this set up will provide plenty of new fun.
Steering links - may need to be custom, length from center of eyelet is roughly 38mm center to center when using mofo RC brass portal knuckles, and roughly 36mm eye to eye when running stock/brass knuckles upside down.
Front lower links - enger side length is roughly 51.30mm from the center to center. Driver side length is roughly 46.66mm from center to center. only one set of links up front.
Front link files are now included
just use your typical pivot ball studs to bolt them on like normal.
Rear Links- Upper links were from a stock kit, and should be the same as usual in accordance to the trailing arm kit you're using.
BIG BORE - If you are running 50mm proline big bore shocks in the front also I recommend running knuckles upside down, and Mofo RC brass portal knuckles if you want your wheel offset upwards even more. Just note, (mofo portals upside down) this will bring the front arms overall clearance down as well and may require some more fine tuning to dial in.
This kit was completely redesigned from scratch with improvements I saw necessary and beneficial, but inspired by SUPREMETOTALITY.
