3D model description

The Praefectus Helmet Builder is my attempt to create a one-stop solution for lore friendly head options for all of your Primary Space Men.

There is a free version of Praefectus available if you're only interested in the base pieces and a few accessories.

Components:

The main component of Praefectus is a Blender file (the Helmet Builder) that allows you to swap any number of base pieces and add-ons to create an incredibly wide variety of helmets. You can use this to add an assortment of optics, decorations, and accessories to any of the base visor options included.

Also included with the Blender file are STLs for each of the components you can use to build with. If you like, you can import these STLs into Blender or any other 3D modeling software and combine them with designs from other creators for your own use. Please be aware that you cannot redistribute these files or any derivatives made with them.

Requirements:

You will need Blender to use the Builder file, which is free software available for from blender.org. I’ve produced a video tutorial walking you through the process of opening Praefectus in Blender, selecting your options, and exporting as an STL for printing. You do not need any modeling or other experience with Blender to do this.

Future Plans:

It is my intention to keep this project going indefinitely, with the goal of allowing you to create as many different lore-friendly permutations as possible. As I add content to this project, those who have already purchased Praefectus will receive updates for free, but I may increase the cost for new purchases to reflect the increasing level of work put into the project.

Suggestions:
I’d love to hear your suggestions about what you would like to see included in this project. Please keep in mind that, for now, I am only interested in lore-friendly designs that fit well with the established range. I may consider adding more exotic or novel designs in the future, but I’d like to fulfill this original vision first. Please still feel free to reach out with any kind of suggestions though!
