3D model description
Hi Chess fans! Here's something exciting for chess enthusiasts, professionals and beginners alike. Here, standard chess and 27 more chess variants have been provided. All variants included are tried and played internationally at-least at some point of time. The reference used is "The Classified Encyclopedia of Chess Variant", by D.B. Pritchard. The set is constructed to be in accordance with the FIDE standards.
And guess what.... No more only two player chess!!! Two of the variants, that is, four-player chess and Fortress chess can be played by four players. So, you may enjoy time with your family while quenching your thirst for the chess...... Print chessmen in four different colors of your choice and enjoy!!
The salient features of the set include:
A modular chess board. Print equal number of squares with black and white colored filaments (or any two contrast colors!) and the pieces, which simply snap together. , keep all pieces in one orientation. Test print shows group of four pieces glued together. These groups were then ed together to form a standard 8 by 8 chess board as shown in image.
Pieces with unique design to enable ers to print any chess variant given in the guide (or even more!). The .pdf guide in the zip folder shows number of pieces required and board arrangement for each variant, followed by rules. The included pieces/components are:
- King
- Queen
- Rook
- Bishop
- Knight
- Pawn
- Archbishop (combines powers of a Bishop and a Knight)
- Chancellor (combines powers of a Rook and a Knight)
Amazon (combines powers of a Queen and a Knight)
Chess squares: 1-square to 6-square files are provided.
Fortress for fortress chess
A concise but comprehensive and self-explanatory guide. Use this guide to construct the chess variant of your choice. Recommended is to print a Double-chess with two each of fairy pieces in both colors. This should be sufficient to get most (but not all) of the variants. Do refer to the guide to familiarize yourself with differing rules if any.
Test print of all components (except for the fortress) is done with Creality Ender 3 V3 SE with 0.40 mm nozzle.
