3D model description

Why not combine 3D printing and folding engineering to create a box that transforms into a game board? That's exactly what this model does, combining practicality and mechanical ingenuity. Thanks to an ingenious flexible hinge system, this box folds and unfolds intuitively to switch instantly from storage to play mode.

Available in two sizes (15 cm and 21 cm tray), this model adapts to your needs and space. To complete the experience, a matching set of counters is included for each version. All you have to do is print, fold and play! Arm yourself with your 3D printer and a touch of curiosity to bring this modular, playful box to life!

3D printing settings

Recommended material: PLA

Tray grip is crucial! Prefer a PEI platter to maximize grip (but any well-tuned platter should do).

In all, you'll need to print 3 parts: the board (15 or 21cm), the pieces (2 colors, 20 pieces per color), the lid.

For those with a multicolor printer:

It couldn't be simpler! If you're using a Bambu Lab, the default print profile is all you need. Just set the gyro fill to 30Β°.

For those who don't have a multicolor printer :

I've included an offset of 0.4 mm in height for the white boxes. So you'll need to pause the printer at 1.6 mm to change the filament color. Recommended filling: 30% gyroid.

Mounting instructions:

Once printed, the tray folds into a box, and the lid keeps it closed! The lid has a one-way opening, and contains two reinforcements to wedge the front (logo side) and back sides together.

When unfolding, bend the sides slightly in the opposite direction to flatten the board!

Maintenance instructions :

If the tray warps after repeated use, you can put it in a hot water bath at 60-70Β° for a few seconds, then place it on a flat surface. It'll regain its youthfulness, and you're back in business! :)
