Print & Assembly Notes
The lid should be placed face-down on the build plate when slicing.
The lid doubles as a dice tray β For a more feel, consider lining it with felt.
There is holes in the corners of both lid and outerbox for 6x2mm magnets, should be push-fit (with some force), but if the tolerances is off, a drop of superglue should keep it in place
Modular Dimensions
All components use a unified naming format:
[type]_[x]-wide_[y]-deep_[z]-tall
Where:
x
, y
, and z
are integers from 1 to 5.
Dimensions are cross-compatible across outer boxes, inner boxes, trays, and containers
Width and depth is interchangeable throughout the models, so 3 -wide_4-deep, is the same as 4-wide_3-deep
Example:
OuterBox_3-wide_4-deep_2-tall
receives InnerBox_3-wide_4-deep_2-tall
You can also stack two 1-tall
trays in racks, or inner box containers to fill the same box.
Final dimensions:
The biggest parts require a printer with a buildplate bigger than 223 mm x 223 mm, since thats the size of the biggest Lit and OuterBox, so if your printer is smaller than 223 mm x 223 mm, the biggest combination possible is 4-wide_4-deep_x-tall - The tallest part (OuterBox_x-wide_x-deep_5-tall) is 114 mm tall, so all commercially available printers should be able to print the tallest parts.
note for people with 220x220 printers - I'll create a OuterBox and Lid that is printable on such machines - I'll notify on the posting when it is ready
Component Types
OuterBox
β the external shell that holds everything
Lid
β matches width and depth of the outer box; always 1-tall
InnerBox
β matches width, depth, and height of the outer box
ContainerRack
β holds loose content that don't fit into the trays
OpenRack
β open-format trays for more flexibility
Trays
β specialized inserts for dice, tokens, etc.
InsideBottomContainers
β open, open with "knob", or specialized containers for cards, rulers, etc.
InsideBottomEdges
β required per layer when using bottom-level containers
Customization Examples
1. Full InnerBox Layout
Fill an InnerBox_x-wide_y-deep_z-tall
completely with open or specific containers inner box containers
Print a (matching dimension) set of InsideBottomEdges
for each layer
2. Mixed Layout
Use layers of containers + layers of trays/racks = totaling the height of the outer and innerbox
3. Tray-Only Setup
Stack Trays
in Racks
directly inside the InnerBox
Blender file is supplied for those who want to play around with the model, before Bevel modifiers and such is applied
The container is not restricted to Kill Team only, the open containers can be utilized for other game systems, its only the Specific Inner Box Containers and Trays that are directly related to Kill Team
UPDATE 2025-05-12:
Added lids with embossed and inserted Kill Team logo
Added tray with half-n-half circle and triangle tokens
Added smaller Outerbox and Lid for beds down to 220x220mm, for 5 wide and/or 5 deep
Fixed minor (mostly non-issue) errors in the mesh for the OuterBox
