3D model description

This is a set of parts to enable the construction of a 20ft ISO tank container frame with insulated tank, and walk ways.

the rungs for the ladder are made from 0.9 or 1mm brass rod superglued in place they can be between 30 and 32 mm (32mm max) all the same length. I suggest cut two to the same length and fit to each end of the long leg ensuring the sides are vertical and all in line.

The guard rail consists of a base and a handrail (two of each). Use 0.9mm brass wire to make the stanchions. The stanchions should be approx 65mm high for 1:14 scale. The bottom has a z bend. Bend the bottom of the stanchion at right angles feed through the base plate and bend dow and cut off approx 2mm(not critical). The top bend is 65mm away bend at right angles feen through the handrail and bend down and cit short. Two sections can then be ed (handrail has a centre hole in the end for 0.9mm wire strengthener.) The whole assembly shoul pivot up. towards the rear. (rear ladder) you can fit a ladder at the front as well.

You can build as left or right hand walkway by orienting the cradle pieces. You can have twin walkways by duplicating the walkway and having the cradles in the opposite orientation then adding a ladder at both ends and a second walkway and handrail.

30/9/2024 update 1

The original tank was exactly 1:14 scale. As we all know Tamiya varies a bit and so I have today added files to make this fit the Tamiya 20 and 40 ft container trailers (also Hercules Hobby). This affects a few parts. The tank centre, the long side bars, the walkway and its handrail and base sides and the twistlock for the bottom.

Any problems or suggestions please let me know .
