3D model description
This is a classic chess set with 3D printable chess pieces and chessboard ready to assemble. After assembly, each chess piece has a place on the chessboard.
The set includes 16 parts:
▪ Bottoms (Bottom_1, Bottom_2, Bottom_3, Bottom_4)
▪ Toppers (Topper_1, Topper_2, Topper_3, Topper_4)
▪ Chess pieces (Bishop head and body, King, Queen, Knight, Pawn and Rook)
▪ Square
You need to print:
▪ Pawn (8 black and 8 white)
▪ Rook (2 black and 2 white)
▪ Knight (2 black and 2 white)
▪ Bishop (2 black with a white head and 2 white with a black head)
▪ Queen (1 black and 1 white)
▪ King (1 black and 1 white)
▪ Square (32 black and 32 white)
▪ Bottoms and Toppers (_1, _2, _3 and_4)
Assembly instructions:
▪ Insert the Bottom_1 into the Bottom_2 and Bottom_3 into the Bottom_4 and then this two connections together (Bottom_1-2 into Bottom_3-4)
▪ The same procedure is also for the Toppers
▪ The final step is to glue the squares to the connected board

3D printing settings
For chessboard (Bottoms, Toppers and Square):
▪ Slicer: Ultimaker Cura
▪ 3D printer: Creality Ender 3-V2 (with Sprite Extruder Pro)
▪ Material: PLA (I used AzureFilm Gold, White and Black PLA)
▪ Nozzle temperature: 200 °C (210 °C first layer)
▪ Bed temperature: 60 °C (65 °C first layer)
▪ Resolution:
- 0.2 mm: Bottoms, Square, (Toppers)
- 0.16 mm: Toppers (for better quality of chess pieces mold cavities)
▪ Walls: 0.8 mm
▪ Top/Bottom thickness: 0.8 mm
▪ Infill: 15-20%
▪ Speed: 60 mm/s or faster (depends on your 3D printer)
▪ Cooling: 100%
▪ Adhesion: brim or skirt
▪ s: generate s for the Toppers as is shown in picture 3 (in pdf document)
▪ Amount of material:
- Bottoms and Toppers: ~ 125g
- Square: ~ 60g
▪ Printing time:
- Bottoms and Toppers: ~ 12-13h
- Square: ~ 7h 30min
For Chess pieces:
▪ Slicer: Ultimaker Cura

▪ Adhesion: used 3.2 mm brim width for better adhesion
▪ s: generate s for the Bishop head, Knight and King as is shown in the pictures 5, 6 and 7 (in pdf document)
▪ Amount of material:
- Pawn (8 pieces): ~ 40g
- Rook (2 pieces): ~ 14g
- Knight (2 pieces): ~ 18g
- Bishop (2 pieces): ~ 15g
- Queen (1 piece): ~ 9g
- King (1 piece): ~ 11g
▪ Printing time:
- Pawn (8 pieces): ~ 4h 30min
- Rook (2 pieces): ~ 1h 30min
- Knight (2 pieces): ~ 2h 15min
- Bishop body and head (2 pieces): ~ 1h 45min
- Queen (1 piece): ~ 1h 15min
