Great! Can't wait to see it. I really want to reprint mine and get good photos, but my printer is in a constant state of repair and the 4 different prints I have are all a bit miss-matched / cobbled together. To large for my resin printer.

Hey, thanks for your interest. Firstly, I am finishing up the testing prototype. Had a few failed prints :(, but adjusted my printer and now getting the wheels printed up. The base design right now looks solid. Recent updates have worked to greatly improve the simplicity and functionality of the design just small things to polish it up. Fenders I will work on now that the basic design is where I want it, so if you want, not a bad time to start printing the important parts. Fenders will simply glue on. I may also include them attached to the hull side for a simple, straightforward print. Otherwise everything else should be glue on extras like lights and tools when they get added. Rest assured this ion project of mine has my full and if you have any recommendations / questions, let me know.

Be sure to get the latest file, and if you do plan on wanting to make a rotatable Mantlet, without drilling into the turret face, then wait as I want to do some experimenting after a prototype is made. (Right now the mantlet just glues on but I may hallow the front of the turret to use a servo or some kind of henglong setup. Entirely optional acorse)

Alrighty, got those fenders added and revised a bit on the turret / mantel, with that out of the way, the base design is now complete. Headlights and tool accessories are still in the works, which simply glue on. No more alterations to the Hull or turret will be done unless any errors or problems arise, however this is looking great and is more than good to print.

Just one question - will it take Heng Long tracks or are those bespoke? Sorry not sure what this tank originally used.

Made them to spec. And I’ll test out each sprocket type to see which works best for metal HengLong tracks, (printing those today) Other than that, the included tracks should work best if you find problems with other brands.

Panzer 3/4 tracks. And as an update I have finished printing the hull and turret. Which for me was real easy after the adjustments I made a while back and now I am waiting for the new suspension arms and sprockets to print.

Thanks, I'm starting printing tomorrow, all sliced and ready to go, will take about two days to print all. The model looks like work in progress but close to the finish line, I'm surprised you actually released it (just saying as some of your clients might be disappointed). Not a big deal for me as I don't mind tinkering and modifying.
One more question if I may as it may save me some time. Did you actually motorised it? I can see that you suggest N20 motors but I'm not convinced those will have enough torque.

Great question on that, I’ve played around with a proto build prior to release. (parts of which is the pictured make, note the different sides as that was a prior to release build, which did have issues especially with how the sprocket was mounted, now changed to better work. I also used HengLong parts just for testing (wheels / tracks) and regular “cheap” servos and while it wasn’t all that good in the proto phase with just a basic servo setup it did mostly* work. The recommendation was more showing the size / 90* angle (not that motor, sorry if the wording was wrong) of which is needed to fit in the narrow hull so you wouldn’t have to cut up a bunch of parts just to make something fit (that’s why the front is missing, really had to remake that like 3 times for it to work at all with any parts.) feel free to all means use any motor / servo you want and let me know what that does for you, I’ll gladly make changes to suite your needs when possible.

As for the current state of the model, kinda wanna of those things you think your all set and once your there you forgot to pack your extra socks. This model started from a simple request for a static display model, that I figured woundn’t take all that much to make RC using other parts. The current version of this model in the most important areas is complete, small changes here and there have happened to ensure that assembly is easier for the end modeler (and for when Cura decides it doesn’t play nice with some models I.e. tracks.) I have also wanted to ensure that you have a straight forward guide for assembly, something many complex models don’t have.

Thanks again. When I read your comment it stroke me this is exactly what I felt - static model being redesigned for RC. All looks very solid and I can see you put a lot of effort and love in that design.
Most of the body will be done in PLA, details and tracks in resin. I've already added gear to the turret ring so this is sorted (powered via N20 motor). I'm not planning to do turret MMGs up/down, just flash - would be good but to much hassle for minor MMG movement.
Still thinking about gearboxes as I would really prefer metal tracks - that would just look great. I'll share photos and any useful files with you. I'll be in touch should I have any further questions.

Yep and I think I got that sorted for the Henglong side. Two tries at that and now I think I have a good sprocket for the metal Henglong tracks. I'll update tomorrow if the tracks fit this correctly to this new one (the base sprocket fits partially, unfornately, the Henglong tracks seem to differ from platsic to metal parts and it wasn't fitting right really).

And spot on there, I did keep in mind as I designed the model for RC use (making the suspension arms non-static), but detail and features (openable hatches) was the main focus, as I find myself wanting more detail than that of your average RC tank (henglong) that sacrifice lots of detail and complexity for durability and ease of assembly. For the mantel to move up and down, small thing indeed, not much goes on but I do wanna rig something up for it later when I can find a good way too, turret is very small, as is the hull which is very full already.

Fantastic, if metal tracks work then this will look brilliant. I test fitted in 3d software and enough space for 16 x 54mm geared motors driving the sprocket via 2x bevel pinion gears. This should be strong enough for metal tracks.

Hopefully this one works better, one small issues is while the PZ 1 Ausf F looks like it uses a PZ 4 sprocket, it doesn't seem to use a normal production one, as the number of teeth differ and the whole design is a bit too. 16 teeth (my best guestment from pictures) opposed to 19 on your Henglong sprockets, 17 on most* original PZ 4 sprockets. So while it should work better with 3rd party tracks. I noticed upon checking the two side by side is that Henglongs sprockets, seem a little off dimensional, and as they drive I did see that the track tends to "float" over the sprocket, rather than the teeth grabing the track. I imagine there is a bit of manufacturing difference between the parts causing this. So if this happens with your metal ones after the new sprocket is released, let me know. Also, if you have them, Bandai plastic tracks, seem to fit perfectly, expect in width, (I'm adding a new one for that too). Odd considering they are two different scales (1/15 v. 1/16). Steves tracks was the sorta reference point for other in-scale parts, so those should work (there more detailed, but not as clean), along with a few others.

I should be set, metal tracks ordered and I intend to use metal sprockets too. Transmission/gearbox designed. If the metal track wouldn't work well then I can always use the one you provided. I think it will be really cool model.

Good idea on that, as using metal tracks with the plastic 3d printed sprockets is a good way to snap a tooth if anything jams, as is what happened when trying the first one.

Hey I did make a change with the idler, if you do plan to use the idler from the kit, the new mount / outer are able to be free spinning like the rest of the wheels.

I'm wrapping up the suspension but mate... a lot of extra work, this is not ready for RC application as there are fundamental issues with your design I'm afraid. Great as a static model - no doubt, beautiful model, good design. As for RC just not enough testing I believe. I ended up correcting most of the workable/mechanical parts in this or another way. Mostly your tolerances are just too big, this might be to do with your printer settings. For example top deck and turret far too lose, internal spring arms and side hull holes too wide, top deck and engine not enough cut to allow movement. Little things that are easy too sort out, just many.
I'd not be that critical if this wouldn't be d as RC but I paid for the files that I expected to work nicely together. So a bit disappointed or maybe frustrated with all this additional work.
I absolutely don't want to be nasty here or discourage you, that's not my intention. Just an honest from experienced builder (40+ 3d printed RC tanks). Once I'm done and manage to get it to work I'll photos showing how I sorted movable components, gearboxes, turret, etc. I can also send you corrected files so you could check where I had issues or I can just point out where I struggled.
I see that you also have Minenraumer (I won't be interested as I designed and built one already). My advice mate - finish your models first, print, test, then release. When people see 'work in progress' they most likely won't buy your files and info on forums about new 3d models are published once only. I think you limit your sale here. Just my thought.

I understand your frustration on this deal. To avoid this back and forth, you’ll get a refund. I designed this model in-mind for RC use in mind, if you do find lots of trouble getting it to work for that use, then I do apologize for the inconvenience. The original client who wanted this design, liked it as it was, and upon making the first few prototype designs / prints, I was confident in the ability for its RC use. Yes modification is required and issues are there and getting worked on. (But I’m here for you ever step of the way) I have put together several RC capable models and I thought this design was better and more detailed than many of the others I have put together myself. Evidently my bar of design and modification needed to convert to RC use isn’t as high as yours and I do respect that you withhold this view and very much appreciate the criticism. Once my motors are ordered and get here, I’ll gladly showcase the model in a running state. As prior when it was running it was really no more than a hull and motors with barrowed parts from the HengLong PZ 4. So correct I have never tested the complete design in RC running format all together assembled. This changes were however tested on the test bench model. Like the sprockets wheels / suspension and other parts. Which seemed fine, and while I know the front hull drive assembly will require a lot of work to fit most motors/ servos, it can be done to make the model RC.

I just want to make all clear - I'm not after a refund. The model is fine just needs polishing touches. This is what I meant. Again I suspect this is down to your printer settings, I'm guessing you have overextrusion. When I printed the parts the gaps were far too large which meant correcting the files and re-printing. Just a lot of additional work which really shouldn't be ed on your customers. I like the model, nice details, looks gorgeous, I can see you spent a lot of time working on it. As I mentioned I'm experienced builder, I've been working closely with several designers, redeg static models for RC, deg from scratch etc. Not a single model defated me and this one is far from that. Just polishing.
As long as you're OK with that I would really like to send over my corrected files if you want them, point out the challenges I had, show how I approached things like motors, rotations, etc. This community is small comparing to other hobbies and I believe we should each other. I don't won't anything in exchange, this is purely dictated by my love to that hobby.
If you want me to delete this and any of my previous comments just let me know - I have no problems with that and I don't want to discourage any of your potential customers.
On a separate note - suspension sorted and all working fine, the motors I used have enough power to run on Taigen metal tracks with metal sprockets (sadly slightly oversized). Top deck and turret done and working, now I'm wrapping up all the remaining electronics and will start working on details, tools so on. The model should be ready by end of day tomorrow then a couple of days for painting.

Thanks so much for sharing what yours looks like. Definitely appreciated! Still working on improving details and those small parts when I can. I do plan on more tools and some of those details you added and you are also more than welcome to share those. You are very correct there on the printer side, yes mine (Ender 3) definitely has issues, usually requiring lots of clean up, so I do tend to make parts with loose tolerance just so everything goes together without some much sanding and cleanup.

I'll put together a list tomorrow. I'm using Bambu P1P, previously ender 3s and 2s. P1P - parts just fit, enders - sanding, sanding, sanding. Anyway, I got your refund but I don't want it so will buy the files again in the moment - I put lot of work to get that model working but same as you to design it.

Yep agree on that, got mine for cheap and it worked for awhile, real slow, and forever has issues. I have taken forever just to get a few of these bigger parts printed cause it fails all the time. Not to mention the screen literally no longer works right at all. I try to keep this in mind as I make parts just so I and others don't have to spend so much time sanding on stuff to make fit or look alright. In all honesty, I usually make a lot of big flat parts and avoid using it so there is now cleanup. Feel free to repurchase, maybe I jump the gun on that but usually (on the internet, ebay especially) people are always looking to get something free, so I just get tired and would rather hand out one than deal with a back and forth kinda stuff and companies if you know what I mean. Ebay : "Oh i didn't see that the images and description said this was wrong... I though it was brand new."

Thanks for your purchase, very much appreciated! Right now to make the turret turn you can screw a servo motor arm to the bottom (turret ring) part. This will allow you to remotely rotate the turret. I am working on the fenders and small parts now, and the mantlet part will come later when I come up with a good way to do so with Henglong parts. Sorry for this delay, as I meant to these updates sooner but I have been in and out of the Hospital lately.

Could you provide an STL file of the complete hull? I'm considering which gearboxes to use, and it would be nice to have the hull in one piece so I can design a cradle for it. I am thinking of using the tamiya twin motor gearbox

With this step, hull side and hull bottom don't fit each other. ¿Could you check it?

Yep, there used to be a reason for that in the original design, as the top hull rear deck used to have a lip in the bottom between that. I left it off the final to allow you to print that flat to the build plate. Thanks for noticing I'll change that for you no problem.

Fixed*. Yeah I played with a few ideas, and originally the sides where gonna sit on the bottom hull against that piece, didn't work with the dimensions so that was changed. Then I was gonna have a piece on the bottom of the engine deck to slide between the side and that part, but on the final left it off so that can be printed on FDM printers flat to the build plate.
