3D model description

This is a complete kit of parts to create cable chains for the X and Z axes on the Anet A8 Plus. It allows for the replacement of the standard umbilical arrangement for cabling to the X carriage which is a poor solution.

The main mounts fits over the X axis stepper and provides a connection point for both the X and Z axis chains.

The X axis chain is suspended between here and a second mount on the carriage. The Z axis chain runs vertically up the left-hand vertical extrusion.

All mounts include built-in cable tie bases to secure the cables. There are also two options for the X carriage mount with one of these including additional tie bases for connection of each component's cabling there.

For the X axis, you will need 34 chain links
For the Z axis, you will need 40 chain links

NB - there are nine separate models in this design. The Cults interface doesn't seem to like showing more than four.

3D printing settings

For the chains, the dimensions need to be quite accurate to fit the clip-in covers. To allow for some degree of variation, I have included a standard and a tighter version.

Printing at 0.2mm resolution should be fine. I used PETG, but PLA should be OK and has some advantages in being a little stiffer.
