3D model description
New v2 design:
This new and update design has a lot of new feature that have improved the strength and simpleness of this chassis! All new files are labeled v2 and all old files are still there to .
To begin I changed up the entire way the links mount. They are now fully mounted on the skid and it also includes links! (They may not work for everyoneโs driving style as I have it set up as a belly dragger but other links or custom links may work.) Additinally I designed up custom some custom behind the axle steering links for the nylon portal axles during the last fusion 360 update the file for them was lost but I am working on recreating them but do not want to delay posting this anymore, I have not tested them with standard axles yet but if they do not work I will design up some new ones if requested! in a week or so they will be posted with the rest of the files
There is now a scale fuel cell for those extra scale points!
I have also completely redesigned the dig system so there is no need for an another driveshaft. Like the other design this one is still a wip and I will need feed back to improve it!
There are 3 skid options, one is for brushless dig (I am sure you can use a brushed set up for it but I would not recommend it.), and then a normal mounted skid and a raised skid for if you need your driveshafts to clean link mounts! If you need a custom skid or anything reworked just comment.
For the battery setup I would recommend using very small batteries for the best performance or with the dig set up, but if set it up right you can still use full size batteries with the battery mount that is included!
The frame has also been reinforced and cleaned up but can still be weak if it does not have all of the s on it so be careful when removing s!!!
I am sure I am forgetting stuff but if you encounter and error or have any questions please comment or me directly via email! I am still a highschool student so I may not be able to reply within minutes but I will try my best to! Thank you everyone for the !
Old v1 design:
This tube chassis is based on the well-known moon buggy. It is based on a custom scx24 skid that allows many different link configurations. There is a unique feature on this chassis which is still a WIP, this feature is "dig" which allows the rear end to be locked for a tight turning radius. There are still many updates to come and links will be added eventually once I find a good balance point. This current skid is based on a custom Micro Comodo setup which I will provide the file for the mount once I feel it is ready. A stock system facing backwards should work. If you have any suggestions or errors please leave a comment or email me.
Include:
- Frame- Skid- Dig Unit- s- Battery Mount
For the dig unit you will need a spare driveshaft to cut up and super glue, the mount is designed for an emax servo with the rear back casing removed for clearance. I will provide photos and steps as soon as possible.
For Printing the chassis I recommend printing as seen in the picture.
Please do not reshare or remix the models, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
