Hi Friend. The content found in CULTS3D is all digital. For the Torso, you will purchase the STL files for you to print at home in your hobby FDM printer (or any more advance printer), along with the instructions on how to put everything together, an Arduino code to get you starting, a MATLAB App to connect to your Arduino board for additional functions, and instructions on how to use the code and the App. There are also instructions on how to make a joystick controller for manual manipulation. I have also added STEP files of each components if you wish to customise it in you CAD package. Please refer to the Bill of Materials (BOM, snapshots above) for the rest of the hardware needed to be purchased/collected by you to build the robot, like servos, Arduino board, power supply, bolts, nuts, ball bearings, etc. You can buy this hardware in your local store, or from Amazon, AliExpress, Flipkart, Walmart, ebay, etc. The Torso V1.0 does not include STL files to print End Effectors. End Effectors STL files shall be purchased separately. I hope this clarifies any doubts .

Unfortunately, the app won’t work with the free versions of MATLAB, such as MATLAB Online or Home. In the past, I reached out to MathWorks to request trial access to MATLAB Compiler so I could create standalone versions of my app, but I never received a response.

I’ve tried ing them again today and am waiting to see if they reply. The issue is that MATLAB Compiler costs $860 per year or $2,150 for a perpetual license, which makes it difficult to create a standalone version of the app unless MathWorks grants me a free trial of the Compiler, or I have a greater demand for the Torso.

Hi Fafabode. Yes, and same thing with the bipedal function. Still a long way to go, since all of these projects are done in my free time. All I’ve got at the moment are ideas in my mind, but eventually I’ll seat down and sketch them.

Hi there friend. It is possible. But there are some expensive digital servos that cannot be hacked in the way I explained in the installation manual. These are the servos I ended up using GX3370BLS and DS3230MG, for your reference.

Hi there. Check out the Bill of Materials (5 slides/pages/photos next to where the videos are) for the details on servos, electronics and other hardware (nuts, bolts, etc). The servos I ended up using were the LJWRC DS3230MG 30KG (8 pcs, with 2 of them able to rotate 270 deg) and the GX3370BLS 70KG (2pcs). But basically you can get any servo brand, as long as they give you the same torque , same rotation and have the same size.

Hi there Matthew. This is actually a torso with two arms. Distance from shoulder to shoulder is 540mm and from shoulder to start of forearm is 497mm. Both arms connect to the clavicle of this torso, which is a standard. 21.4mm ~25mm OD pvc pipe. There are other structures inside the torso that add stability to the arms. Therefore, these two arms are designed for this torso.

In regards to your question:1.yes, all step by step instructions to assemble each t are included in the assembly instructions document.An arduino code is included, as well as a MatLab app. If you have access to MatLab, you can use this app to communicate with the ARDUINO board for additional functionality. There is also a detail document showing you how to connect the electronics to the ARDUINO board, how to use the code, how to install the MatLab app and how to use it. All STL file of the torso ( 5 ts per arm) as well as the STEP files are available. 2.yes, in fact I used my Ender3 with glass table to print every component. All part are oriented in the way they are meant to be printed. The assembly manual also shows you the important settings in Cura, like the infill, s, etc, so that you get closer to my printing settings and my final results .There is some additional hardware that you need to buy, like bearings, nuts and bolts. Check out the BOM ( Bill of materials) for the details of this hardware. 3.there is no further plans in releasing a newer version. If I make changes, it will be on the software site, in which case I will update the ARDUINO code here. Any previous buyers will be able to the updates for free. And if I make any modifications to this design, I’ll send a notification to whoever ed the creation to let you guys know what the upgrade was about.4. There is only an ARDUINO code and the MatLab App. I hope this helps.

Most of the time I used PLA of good quality (like the creality). This is going to make a difference for the structural parts.

Hi there friend. The t in the shoulder, which is the critical one, can lift a load of 3 to 4 kg located in the middle of the end effector.But it all depends on the quality of the filament you print with and the infill percentage of the parts.
