3D model description
Minarelli AM6 Ignition Cover & Pinion Protector Set (Rieju MRT Tested)
Product Description
This is a 3D model package featuring a replacement ignition cover (stator cover) and a front pinion protector (sprocket guard), both designed for motorcycles equipped with the popular Minarelli AM6 engine.
These designs have been successfully test-fitted on a 2023 Rieju MRT 50cc. They serve as great replacements for damaged stock parts or as a base for customizing the look of your bike. Both the ignition cover and the pinion protector feature interchangeable face plates/sheets for easy personalization.
Recommended Printing Material: ASA
For printing these parts, ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) filament is highly recommended.
- Why ASA?
- Weather Resistance: ASA offers excellent resistance to UV light and outdoor conditions, making it ideal for motorcycle parts exposed to the elements.
- Durability & Strength: When printed with optimized settings, ASA produces strong, durable parts capable of withstanding the vibrations and environment around the engine/drivechain. Proper print settings (temperature, cooling, speed) are crucial for achieving maximum strength.
Included Files (.STL Format)
This package contains the following 3D models:
1. Ignition Cover Components:
* CoverBody.stl
: The main body of the ignition cover.
* CoverSheet.stl
: The interchangeable face plate for the ignition cover (Includes a pre-made design).
* CoverSheetEmpty.stl
: A blank face plate for the ignition cover, ready for your own customization.
2. Pinion Protector Components:
* PinionProtectorBody.stl
: The main body of the front pinion protector.
* PinionProtectorSheet.stl
: The interchangeable face plate for the pinion protector (Includes a pre-made design).
* PinionProtectorSheetEmpty.stl
: A blank face plate for the pinion protector, ready for your own customization.
- Personalization: The blank plates (
CoverSheetEmpty.stl
& PinionProtectorSheetEmpty.stl
) are provided specifically so you can easily add your own custom logos, text, or designs using basic 3D modeling software before printing.
Hardware Requirements
- Mounting to Bike: To mount the main
CoverBody.stl
and PinionProtectorBody.stl
parts onto your motorcycle, you can reuse the original stock screws that hold your existing ignition cover and pinion protector.
- Attaching Face Plates: To attach the face plates (
CoverSheet.stl
or CoverSheetEmpty.stl
, and PinionProtectorSheet.stl
or PinionProtectorSheetEmpty.stl
) to their respective bodies, you will need the following *additional hardware *:
- 10x M3 Screws: Metric thread, 3mm diameter. Recommended length is between 14mm and 16mm.
- 10x M3 Nuts: To secure the screws.
- 10x M3 Washers: (Or 20x if using under both screw head and nut) For proper fastening and load distribution.
Important Considerations & Extra Information
- Fitment: While tested on a 2023 Rieju MRT 50cc, Minarelli AM6 engines are used in various motorcycle brands and models (e.g., Beta RR, Yamaha DT50, Aprilia RS50 before 2006, etc.). Minor variations in mounting points or surrounding components might exist between different bikes. Always double-check clearances and fitment on your specific motorcycle before final installation.
- Printing ASA: ASA can be more challenging to print than PLA or PETG. It typically requires:
- An enclosed printer to prevent warping.
- Higher nozzle and bed temperatures.
- Good bed adhesion (using glue stick, ABS/ASA slurry, or specific build surfaces).
- Controlled cooling (often minimal or no part cooling fan).
- Printing in a well-ventilated area due to potential fumes (styrene).
- Strength: The final strength and durability of the printed parts depend heavily on your printer calibration, filament quality, and print settings (layer height, wall count, infill percentage and pattern, layer adhesion). Printing solid or with a high wall count and infill is recommended for structural integrity.
- Disclaimer: You are responsible for ensuring the printed parts are suitable and safe for use on your motorcycle, and that all hardware is correctly installed and secured. The seller is not liable for any issues arising from improper printing, installation, or hardware use.
