3D model description

Following one request to get a dolly trailer able to hold semi trailers I desisgned and beeing tow by a standard truck or even crawler, I made this.

It is designed to suit all semi trailers made for the FMS atlas 6WD, flat bed, citern and low loader.

Very simple it use exactly a 5th wheel on top of this dolly. This 5th wheel can move frome side to side to help when a bit of crawling is done.

Leaf springs are fake, made very rigid to avoid the dolly to move down specialy with the low loader trailer.

The front bracket can be fitted in 3 positions depending the front leaf you chose to fit. See 3D design picture. All pictures of the printed dolly are made with using the upper point. It use an eyelet compatible with all 1/24 and FMS Atlas Nato hook system I also designed and which you can find on those pages.

It use some Aliexpress tires designed for SCX 24. Please use this diameter of tires to get the semi trailers in correct position.

Concerning the 5th wheel, it can rotate in 2 directions which is a good improvement for crawling.
You need a M2x 20mm or any 2mm stud for the lateral rotation.
A locker is made with a M2 x 30mm screw or any 2mm stud. when lock you cannot release the trailer from the truch in any way, unless you remove this stud. I drilled the hole for this stud in the 5th wheel to 2mm then the screw or stud can be fitted and remove easily.

You need a set of M1.4 mm screws length 10mm for all fittings.
As usual you have to redrill holes to 1.2mm when a screw has to screw in and redrill to 1.5mm when a screw has to go through freely.
