You can turn an ordinary mouse into a Super Mouse. This ergonomic mouse places the arm and wrist in neutral position to reduce the risk of a Repetitive Strain Injury.

The STL files are for a left hand mouse (R & L click, and a scrolling wheel), but all components can be mirrored in your slicer to make a right hand one.

All components are 3d printed with the exception of the “base board” or main electronic board, which comes from a standard mouse (and preferably a cheap one). Depending on the size of this board you will need to choose either the long or the short version. There is a PDF drawing for the base component of each mouse to give you an idea on the allowable size of the base board. (i.e the maximum allowable size of the base board for the large size design is 78x41mm, with the sensor aligned with the 78mmmn side. Refer to the PDF file “LAD-3DP-BML1_Base_for_Long_mouse”. For the short mouse, I have found two typical types of boards and therefore have designed two base boards. Refer to the PDF file “LAD-3DP-BML1_Base_for_short_mouse”)

The three switches, encoder and wheel need to be detached from the base board of the original mouse and glued to the 3d printed top board, then wires need to be soldered to connect the switches and encoder to the respective places on the base board.

Use self tapping screws 2~3mm OD to fasten the components together. Alternatively, use a hot-glue gun to the parts together.

NOTE: to take a five minute break after every 20 or 30 minutes of continuous use of any computer mouse.

Print the components as shown on the STL files. s are needed for angles greater than 46 deg.

For the Top Click, the speed needs to be reduced to 60% your normal speed since it is a very thin element and is printed vertically. You might want to print it horizontally, but that will require more s and more post-processing.
