3D model description
Bird Masquerade Mask with Feathers and Beak, by Perihelion Prints.
Ready to print and wear or display.
======
This masquerade mask, with avian touches like feathers and a beak, is perfect for a masquerade party, Mardi Gras celebration, or as part of a bird costume. Scaled to fit most adult heads.
For attachment to head, use elastic cord or ribbon. For fitting, place the mask on your face, lining it up with your nose. Measure how much ribbon you'll need to go around your head, then add a bit more and cut two equal halves. Tie a knot at the end of each piece of cord, or glue one to each side of the mask, and use the leftover length to tie both pieces into a knot/bow behind or head. Or you can edit the file to come up with your own solution.
Sculpted in Blender. STL and .blend files included. Dimensions in millimetres.

3D printing settings
0.20mm layer height recommended.
Use s where appropriate - organic s recommended. Brim also recommended. Print upright for best results.
Be especially careful with the first few layers, since the lowest feathers need the most . After about the beak, it's mostly a solid object up until the feathers at the top. If necessary, print in parts and glue together (as shown).
15% infill tested. PLA recommended.
Filament Usage (estimated): 110g
Printing Time (estimated): 9h
^ Estimates based off slicing for Prusa MK3.9. Your mileage may vary.
======
Paint recommended for best results. A base coat, followed by finishing touches on the eyes/beak/feathers works well. Using a thick brush to dab around the eyes can give a "smoky" effect, and the individual feathers can be highlighted with a paint pen, etc.
The materials of the feathers, beak, and mask base are technically separated in the Blender model, allowing for multi-colour print if your printer s that, and you can figure out how to export it to a compatible format. Although this has not yet been tested.
If you would like any help experimenting with multi-colour, send a message before or after making your purchase.
