Design is to be printed out in separate parts in the corresponding colors to eliminate the need to paint. This also allows everyone to be able to print this design regardless of what printer you are using.
Thorio
Super Asgardian Brothers!! Thorio
Thor tops my list, and to be honest, fits the perspective of the corresponding characters much better. Marvel’s character Thor really cracks me up. Ever since seeing Ragnarök, I have been a huge fan of Thor and was thrilled with the recent ideas for a mashup.
Printing…
Most of the parts are self-explanatory and do not require . However, I would like to discuss two areas.
The Red cape…
I used glitter filament and wanted it to look more like fabric, so I adjusted a fuzzy skin setting in the slicer to for that. The look of the glitter filament and the fuzzy skin finish came out perfectly, and it really does look like a knitted cape. Fantastic!!
My original plan was to split the red cape down the middle and glue the two halves together. However, when I ran a test print, I found that the ends of the cape lifted off the print bed and created a horrible gap between the parts when putting them together. Adding a brim to the split pieces helped, but the seam still bothered me when putting everything together.
So I tried printing it as one piece, laying it on its side. This worked out well for the original size, but when testing out the 215 larger version, it was a problem getting one corner to stay put and have a successful print. So, in the 215 version of the Cape in one piece, I designed a manual for this corner.
In short, if you have issues, there are two different ways to print this part. I recommend printing the solid one piece on its side to reduce the amount of material required and align the layers created by the printing process to be more aesthetically pleasing. However, there is also the option to print this in two pieces, which eliminates the need for .
The Hammer Head…
I was hoping to get a Hammer designed in the shape of a plunger, and for the most part, I am pleased with the design. I printed this part multiple times, on multiple different build plates, testing out the textures of the different plates for the best possible finish. I eventually tried splitting it and printing the face of the hammer oriented to the top of the print, and turned on the iron settings in the slicer to smooth the top of the print. I eventually switched to the Bambu original textured PEI plate and printed it face down. This had to be the best quality print I was able to produce. You will see in the pictures of the large Thorio that its hammer head is printed in this fashion.
Assembly…
I highly recommend PLA Gloop, if you can get your hands on it.
PLA Gloop Website
Starbond Adhesives make a good CA or super glue alternative at a lower price point. I recommend the Medium or Thick formula. I would defiantly pick up some Accelerator if your planning on using the Thick formula.
I will include some assembly pictures in the documents to help visually show how the parts should come together. Please check the pictures in the to help assemble the design.
I recommend starting with the lower half of the body, assembling the shoes and legs, and working up to the black belt.
Then assemble the midsection above the black belt, adding the silver lower armor piece to the center first. Then, add the lower gold plates to either side. Next, add the Dark Blue body sides and attach the upper gold bow-shaped pieces to the sides. Lastly, insert the Silver upper Armor piece to complete the midsection.
Assemble the headpieces separately from the body. Add the facial features first. Make sure to insert the white teeth in position before adding the mustache.
Assemble the three Silver helmet pieces together, then add them to the completed face.
With the face attached to the Helmet, it should be easy to figure out the location of the gold helmet wings and chin guards. I recommend gluing these pieces together before attaching them to the helmet. Keep in mind that the chin guard is offset from the wing, so when glueing them together, pay attention to aligning the key in the back of these pieces rather than the outer face of the pieces.
Filaments Used

I really loved the darker silver of Duramic Silk Silver, but ran out and had to use 3DHOJOR silk silver for the large scale test prints
I found Elegoo Galaxy Peacock Blue looks amazing!! And worked well with my print settings. FLASHFORGE Burnt Titanium worked well but was a bit darker than I would have liked.
