3D model description
I love painting as much as I love my jigsaw, but I hate shaking the paint bottles with the vigour they require.
Seeing other jigsaw/shaker designs I wept at the lack of symmetry and the prospect of wrecking my jigsaw with their offset weight so I decided to create my own iteration of design which would plunge the pot with a more central effort.
The top is designed to screw straight onto an actual jigsaw blade, this way the will maintain the rigidity and form that the jigsaw works best with. There are 2 screws either side of the assembly. These offset the weight of each other whilst maintaining a firm grip on the blade. As a concept I was a little dubious with this idea but was glad I tried it as it worked much better than expected.
There are 2 sizes of bottle holster, one is standard Vallejo size and the other is for the mini half-size bottles you get in the paint sets. Both holsters fit on the same thread, so you only need to print a single base.
I designed the cap screw with a heavy but minimal wind of thread, this way there was no risk of it coming apart in a potentially messy fashion, whilst also allowing for a very quick bottle change with minimal twist. This also worked much better than I expected.

Printing:
You'll probably need s; I did. Provided you have your ceiling set with a tidy gap you wont have too much trouble snapping them out though.
Tolerances are pretty tight and the thread may feel a little tight on the first few screws but trust me, if your printer is dialled in to any degree, 4-5 quick screws and it'll be exactly where you want it.
The lid and base both have an area which can accommodate a piece of foam to help keep the bottle snug. I originally tried a soft foam but found that the vigorous nature of its movement compressed it too easily, so I would definitely recommend something a little stiffer, perhaps even go so far as a soft rubber. Don't skip this step as broken paint lids are the opposite of fun in more ways than one. I designed this with 3mm space either end of the bottle, so make sure your combined compressed material is at LEAST 3mm at max compression.
I made this to suit my jigsaw which is a Bosch PST 65 DE (I believe the 650 is the same model; different in name only). Any blade that fits the 2mm x 9.5mm profile should be fine. Make sure you observe the plunge depth of the blade (mine is 20mm) and fit the base to the blade accordingly to avoid any collision with screws etc. PLEASE DO THIS SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY!
Dimensions:
Plunge depth of blade into the base is 42mm
Blade profile is 2mm x 9.5mm
Screw spacing is 19.5mm to the centre
Screw hole is to suit a 2.7mm dia screw with a plunge depth of as close to 7.2mm as you can get. This will ensure that the screw will be long enough to put pressure against the blade whislt not being so long it hangs out the side and collides with things, eats fingers hands etc...
p.s. If you don't mind sacrificing a single blade for your love of painting (or not shaking), using some decent glue you could probably also just glue the blade into the cavity. I didn't see the point in doing this so I'm unsure of how this works in practice.
Let me know how it goes or if you need any adjustments.
