AI models often have terrible hands. Today I spent a lot of time posing and compiling AI generated hands for use in models. These are ready for print and quad remeshed so they should be easy to Boolean onto your existing models and shouldn't add any issues. I made the effort to fill these in so there shouldn't be any voids inside of the hands - there are 53 models here tho so it's possible I missed some.
Stuff that I didn't do:
* I didn't do more sculpting on fingernails etc... that kinda stuff can show up on really big hands or resin prints but I didn't do that for these
* Scale for miniatures - these are probably scaled to 32mm so they big, you'll have to scale and position them
* Create right/left variants - I think these are all left-handed, you can mirror them to get the other version
Lmk if you find any issues and I can apply fixes.
Updates:
* April 28, 2025 - Added Skeleton hands
In this collection there are a few hands:
- Human Hands #1 - A somewhat normal looking human hand
- Human Hands #2 - A more rigid human hand with flat faces
- Human Hands #3 - A really muscular and veiny hand
- Evil Hands - Hands with really long curled claws and flat palms - the claws don't always curl our perfectly and these also don't really work as fists, great for fiends / werewolves etc...
- Claw Hands - Hands with small claws (I'm not the best at naming conventions), great for demons or goblins
- Gauntlet Hands - These are metal gauntlets in the same poses as the others
- Skeleton Hands - Hopefully self explanatory, I filled them in a lot on most versions except for the claw hand so they should be FDM friendly!
Here are the poses that I have so far:
- Cast - Fingers curled and palm out
- Claw - Curled fingers as though they're ready to scratch
- Fist - Kinda self-explanatory - the "evil" variant with long nails doesn't have fist poses for... reasons
- Hang Loose - the fist pose for the middle three fingers and sipstea / thumbs up for the others
- Open - This is the original rest pose from the model, generally an open hand pose
- Point - A fist pose with a pointing finger
- Rest - Not the rest pose but rather a relaxed hand pose with curled fingers (not quite the claw)
- Sips Tea - A fist pose with a pinky out - so fancy!
- Stop - Open pose curled at the wrist
- Thumbs Up - A fist pose with a thumb's up, good work for reading this far
Todo List:
* Lizard Hand
* Frog Hand
* Zombie Hand
* leather glove
* cloth glove
I have two more hands in my backlog - another human hand (but the model is a bit messed up) and another claw hand. I'd like to make some more glove variants, zombie hands, frog hands and skeletal hands, maybe crab hands but they would have very few poses... If you want any other style of hands or poses let me know and I can look at whipping them together too.
Another thing that might be good are bracers to act as a buffer between a model and these hands. That might be another future project.
I thought a little bit about releasing a few of these for free and then putting these behind a $5 charge or something behind the rest but honestly idk if they're good enough for people to pay for. Additionally I'm doing this stuff for fun, to learn how to 3d model and to create dnd figures so sharing them outright is better. If you like this kind of content let me know, like here or (on printables) and consider subscribing to my Patreon. I don't currently charge anything for my models.
Feel free to use these hands in your models - attribution and remixes are nice but more than anything I don't want people to rename the files and charge for them. If you want to use these as a part in your own paid models (AI or not) feel free to do so. These are meant to be free, fun, help people learn and make models not for profit.
I'm on a quest to make 1000 free DND/TTRPG miniatures. See my other models and progress on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/c/Adamnant
