3D model description
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, there are only 3d printables...
Ready to exchange your imperfect, corruptible flesh for something more perfect that can withstand the test of time?
Your medallion stl file also comes with 3 fitted stands. 1x solid stand, 1x a stand with 3 slots in the back, and 1x a stand with an additional slot in the front. The slotted stands are meant to save time and material if you so choose.
The photos here show it printed in .3mm settings which gave an amazing paintable surface that I enjoyed washing with coats of watered acrylic on top of a primer spray paint. The surface layers really catch the wash in a way that is fun to watch. I printed a scaled down version at .2mm settings also shown in the photos.
I have provided the STL file to get you started and suggest printing this thing as big as possible, it will look great in any room and a very nerdy conversation piece. Paint some colors with your software of choice if you have a printer that can swap filaments/print heads or for the rest of us, grab some cheap acrylic and paint it!
Pics include my cheap acrylic paint job which turned out better than I expected!

*If you need an affordable, dependable printer I recommend Elegoo printers.

3D printing settings
Here are the print settings that worked for me:
*Successfully printed on a factory stock Elegoo Neptune 3 with matte grey Overture PLA under similar settings:

Infill density: 10-15%
Infill: Gyroid
Top/Bottom thickness: 2mm
Print speed: 50-60mm/s
Initial layer line width: 108% (slightly more than 100% gives me good adhesion and lines for a better looking bottom)
Initial layer speed: 10mm/s
s: Tree/Organic
Overhang: 70-80ΒΒ°
Pattern: Lines or Grid
Adhesion: Brim 3mm
Draft Shield 4mm away from print and at least 10mm in height
**Strong strength glue stick like "UHU stic" applied to build plate highly recommended

Print time: approx. ~15 hrs @40 mm/s
Adjust settings as needed!*
This file is subject to change and may be updated without notice
REMINDER: adjust your Z-offset AFTER leveling your bed if needed! PLA likes to be slightly squished and don't be afraid of hotter nozzle temperatures. I have great success with 40-60mm/s print speed and nozzle temps from 215-230 C. I'm usually printing at 220 C.
*The quality of your filament is equally as critical as your print settings for amazing results! I recommend Overture PLA+. Trust me, it's worth the few extra dollars! I get incredible layers.π https://amzn.to/4asxjn6
